thanks man... as for the audio? many of the users here use pcm? i read in the manual that if you have an avr that has dts decoder then use the bitstream instead?which ones better of the two? i had issues with the audio im not sure if its regarding this audio or an avr problem..
for audio, i think it will be best if you use the receiver to decode all surround sound, may it be the classic dolby d, dts or the newer hd surround format like dolby tru hd or dts ma.
for classic surround sound just make sure your receiver have either a digital audio coax input or an optical audio input. both connections will output the surround sound. but for hd surround sound, this will only output through hdmi. but if its the xde we are talking about, i think the connections will be:
video:
xde hdmi out ---> receiver hdmi in
receiver hdmi out ---> to lcd/plasma hdmi in
audio:
xde coax/optical out ---> receiver coax/optical in ---> surround sound output through speakers
