Ha-Ha-Ha  ;D ;D ;D

Panasonic Philippines, kung totoo ito' Naka-kahiya. :P

Parang sa Divisoria at Quiapo...kahit bastos ang tindera...bili parin.....mura eh  ::) :P

Ha-Ha-Ha talaga  ;)

The BIG question is: Galing nga kaya sa Panasonc Phils yun warning ??? As ABC Motorparts have posted earlier: kinda odd that a Big company like Panasonc Phils would not have their own server but use the email service of yahoo!

Also, Panasonic Phils should have publish this warning in major newspapers and not only in PDVD if they're alarmed by owners who have ther tvs calibrated. Sus, PDVD members make up only a very very small fraction of AV market in the Phils

Service menu ibig sabihin nila not to touch RGB color, white balance etc. standard setting ok lang galawin of course color, contrast etc all standard display function. Factory display can be opened by a service remote or other calibrating instrument. It should be done by pana service crew kung sira lang yun unit. :D

Then they should have post a warning to people NOT to buy Grey units and NOT about calibration

He should have thought of things before posting such statement, ginagawa naman niyang T*NGA ang mga

Sana PanaPhil could enlighten us, I'm still giving that account the benifit of the doubt, baka naman talaga taga panny yan. Even though the registered e-mail of Panasonic is

[email protected] , per Panasonic's own website.

If Panasonic really does not like the idea of color calibration in whatever form, then I will just go for another brand. I'm sorry but color calibration really makes a lot of difference.

Di naman sir, malay nyo personal e-mail ng isang taga panny yan( hope he/she really has the mandate of Panasonic Phil). Kaya, I'm not judging the account yet, there must be a good explanation for all this.

Precisely sir.  Sir carlo777 posted that the registered email of  Panasonic is pmpc BUT  email address of the one who started this thread was [email protected]. Is [email protected] the same as [email protected]?

Regarding to my post mawawalan ng benta, I'm just referring to sir carlo777 post: "then I will just go to another brand". Hindi po ba mawawalan sila ng isang customer because sir carlo777 is contemplating of getting another brand? ;D

This is what they mean, if your buying a brand new car syempre sa Casa yung service or void yung 3 years warranty ng car.. eh kung may masira sa loob, sasagutin ba ng freelance technician yung damage sa car? lets say bago palang gusto ko na gawin turbo sagutin kaya ng kasa?. I dont know why na kailangan palakihin yung issue regarding this standard procedure ng warranty. The warning is intended for us to be aware of the consequence of what might happen incase ma damage yung RGB colors of the plasma, who will be the one shouldering it. Alam naman natin what our basic remote control can do there is limitation, di naman natin ma a-access yung setting w/out a special remote or tool. His info was a bit forward and lacks explaination but he is indeed a panasonic personel.

Mr. Surg you can meet him if you want, I can arrange a meeting so he can further explain to you what you want to hear. Para wala ng guessing game. I'm not like that ;)

i think wala ng problema na from panasonic na nga yung tao, as confirmed by sir nemesis, its just disappointing that someone from the manufacturer itself will make a post such as the one the guy from panasonic did here, not even taking the time to really think of what message he wants to put across. syempre pdvd ito, wherein majority of members are actually well versed and well informed about stuff like these. and for him to state his message like he was just informing a bunch of six graders is just plain insulting.

anyway, thoughts ko lang naman. kasi if you read the first post kung hindi pa na-confirm na taga panaphil nga sya, the post really lacks credibility.  :)

I agree with you surg on this one. It's a good thing I got myself a Pioneer instead of Panasonic..he!he! And to panaphil, please read on the thread that you started and elaborate.  Otherwise, this will really just backfire on Panasonic

For me, the only thing that would make sense is if the OP was referring to the Service Menu of the display. In general, you should be careful when you tweak the Service Menu because it may be possible to damage the unit if you tweak certain parameters.

Generally, however, most calibrators would only tweak the bias and gain in the Service Menu and that should not be a problem. In fact, with the proper instruments and software, it will vastly improve the picture.

Of course, the OP may only be trying to undermine the sales of stores which offer free calibration. That's speculation but I can't help thinking that way cuz the first post is so badly written and with so little information that it's hard to believe that a rep of Panasonic Philippines had actually written it.

This is what they mean, if your buying a brand new car syempre sa Casa yung service or void yung 3 years warranty ng car.. eh kung may masira sa loob, sasagutin ba ng freelance technician yung damage sa car? lets say bago palang gusto ko na gawin turbo sagutin kaya ng kasa?. I dont know why na kailangan palakihin yung issue regarding this standard procedure ng warranty. Jeff, that's what I thought he actually meant and that is a valid point because you can actually damage the unit by tweaking certain Service Menu parameters. Unfortunately, d naman nya sinabi yun. Ang sinabi nya is "Manual calibration."

This is quite a serious issue and Panasonic should have done better preparation and reviewed the wording of that post. The way it was done, people are absolutely shocked that such a reputable company would issue such a poorly-written and misleading statement.

@nemesis:
Kindly read posts of sirs stickfighter, R1DVD, streetsmart right after your post at 12:11 am today. I need not say anything more

Thank you for your offer for me to meet the guy from PanaPhils but I have to decline the offer. I'm from the province and I wouldn't waste my time going there just to meet them. In the first place, if he posted was  tweaking the service menu then no questions would be asked kaso manual calibration ang post nya and as we all know, manual calibration is very different from calibration via service menu

Pansin ko lang why yun sentence "THOSE GIVING FREE CALIBRATION FOR PLASMA ARE DEFNITELY NOT AUTHORIZED PANASONOC PHILIPPINES DEALERS...BEWARE!!!" Ang naka-CAPITALIZED?!! :o... Means he's giving more emphasis to that rather than to the manual calibration when the  thread name is about manual calibration

As far as i'm concerned, I bought my Pana from the store who offer free manual calibration and I got a Phil Panasonic Certificate from them  ;D

There are certain displays which allow you to adjust the RGB bias and gain (often, there are different labels for these like cut/boost) via the ordinary User Menu, not just the Service Menu. You need these controls in order to calibrate the gray-scale of the display.

I know that the Panny pj's allow this. In these cases, you can do the Spyder calibration without entering the Service Menu. Otherwise, you have to use the Service Menu. D ko lang alam if the Panny TV's allow these adjustments.

The Service Menu will often have these controls as well, but with much more refined steps. Kumbaga, if the ordinary menu is -10 to +10, baka -50 to +50 ang Service menu. Ergo, it is better to use the Service Menu for calibration.

In any case, if you use the Service Menu only for the RGB bias and gain, there should be no problem whatsoever - I always do that with my own Sony pj. HOWEVER, there are many parameters contained in the Service Menu and there are some parameters which you should absolutely not touch, else baka masira ang display or shortened ang life. That's why the manufacturers will naturally be wary about people entering the Service Menu.
