Read somewhere that during the start of the season, LA was holding down opponents below 100.  The last 6 or 8 games...the average shot up to more than 100.

You can't do that in this league.  Ask the Phoenix Suns even during their most successful seasons.  It may get you the best record in the regular season but it doesn't translate to post season success.

Wiggum said it best....THERE SHOULDN'T BE OFF NIGHTS ON DEFENSE.

let's talk about other teams naman pa-minsan minsan.  :)

while the lakers, cavaliers, and celtics are at the top of the heap, the next tier below them, and not too far away, are the blazers and magic.

magic are doing well, and dwight is becoming more consistent. blazers, however, have more upside as their players are younger and have not yet peaked. brandon roy may not be as dominant as lebron or kobe, but in terms of pure technical basketball skills he may have the best overall package. he's also turning out to be clutch.
interesting game between the two yesterday. portland got hit back with a game-winner 3 by hedo after blake did that same thing against the raptors.

hornets might be up there too but have had early problems. and watch out for the spurs, who some writers have called the "cockroaches of the nba" because they just won't die. td is playing as well as he ever has.

The bigger question will be - who will be next in the firing line?

Well, another one bites the dust. The Sixers just fired Mo Cheeks.
My guess is that Theus of the Kings & O'Brien of the Pacers are next in line.

And 2009 is suppose to be the Spurs year again, after winning the odd-numbered championships in 2003, 2005 & 2007. ;)

Reggie Theus just got fired by the Kings. Surprisingly, Assistant Coach Chuck Person was fired also.

I have a feeling the Fil-Am coach of the Miami Heat will be next to go.

The LA Lakers are playing sub-par and fortunately still able to win and beating teams below 500. Lucky for them its happening this early in the season. Coach phil is trying to shake up his line-up with luke starting the last couple of games.

Eventualy i hope they will be able to make the right adjustment and remain on top of the Western conference.

Cant wait for the LA,Boston game!

15 game winning streak na ang celtics ;D

Boston goes for win no. 17 today against Chicago, which I feel should be a cinch.  Boston's opponents will then be sub-.500 teams New York and Philadelphia (so that should be 19 straight), before their much-anticipated rematch on Christmas Day against the Lakers at Staples.  It would be really nice for the streak to end then.  :)

BTW, based on their schedule online, Star Sports will be airing this game LIVE at 6:00 a.m. next Friday!  ;D

2 straight losses for the lakers on their 4-game road trip. they get an easier outing next game against memphis, but then head to new orleans on a back-to-back the next day -- another dangerous game.

the lakers' hyped defense has become soft of late. plus i don't think i can trust a team with odom in the lineup. and i'm starting to get the same feeling about gasol. only fisher and kobe are real fighters; the rest of the roster looks soft.

beating boston on christmas day would be a good break if they can do it.

Odom looked lost in the flow of things awhile ago. Shot 1 for 7 and was mostly standing around.  He will be gone soon if he continues to be like this.

Pau should ask his brother how to be more physical.. add that to his current skill set, Pau could be a very dangerous power forward.. but with the way LA is playing now, they could lose the no. 1 spot in the West right after Christmas..

Lakers are slumping.  Farmar's out at least a couple of months.  IMO Bynum's also not playing to his potential.  A lot of negatives heading into the game against New Orleans tomorrow, and the big rematch against the Celtics on Friday.  :(

Great way to show everyone that your team is a serious contender by beating New Orleans and the best team right now(regardles of the loss), the Celtics.

I downloaded the game at DavkaBT. It's a big file, though, at 1.6gig yung two files na yun, although may bagong nag-upload ng 1.4gig lang na file. Kaninang madaling araw ko lang natapos i-download at burn ko na sa DVD-R para mapanood sa TV. Hehehe.

galing ni ron artest kanina :) they won against Utah but needed 2 OTs to do it. artest wasnt supposed to play because of a swollen ankle pero he still played and bully niya ang defenders nung 2nd OT :)

Marbury to Boston?  Assuming he'll be released by the Knicks, looks like it's going to happen.  HUGE gamble for Boston.  They really need to improve that bench, but I think there are other (better) PG options out there.

Celtics need all the help they can get.....they are in a major slump.

Lost again...this time to Houston, and have now lost 6 of their last 8 games.
