pooch, sir how would you know which subtitle file to download? madaming files and diifferent sizes. so malamang may sync issues?
1. look at the filename of the subtitle file very closely (keywords: 720p, 1080p). in some cases, you'd find the exact filename as that of the movie/TV show file.
2. look at the FPS: For hd stuff, mostly 23.976 fps. If you dont get the one with the matching framerate, you'll get sync problems.
3. In case you cannot find a subtitle file that syncs correctly, find the "subtitle resync" function within the WDTV (if it exists). If not, use the PC, run MKVMERGE and fix the sync (you've got to know the lead or lag in milliseconds and input that value in the associated parameter box before merging the movie file and the subtitle file).
4. if you dont know how to do step 3, then watch the movie on a PC using KMPlayer and do subtitle resync through the player (sync correction is again in milliseconds hence you've got to estimate the lead/lag as you watch the movie).
5. sometimes the subtitle file that matches perfectly is segmented into 2. 1st file would be no problem at all. 2nd one, take note, would be advanced by the playback time covered by the 1st file. For instance, if the 1st subtitle file is good for 1 hour on a full length film, then the sync correction for the 2nd file would be 1 hour. if you like the math, you can even get subs fragmented into 3 or 4, just make sure you know the correction time.
