Yup, unlimited yun 24/7, kaso baka sumakit ulo mo nyan sa kakapanood, joke

Last night nag tweak ang Cignal, sobrang linaw na ng SD channels nila. sa mga naka Cignal, check it out, yung GMA 7 parang CNN na sa linaw ang broadcast.
As for the Cignal HD, watched The Kingdom in HBO HD last night, iba pala talaga pag HD, meron ako orig DVD nito at nka upscaler ang dvd player ko, pero iba pa rin pag HD, full of details almost 3d like

ESPN is not true HD. sayang this could have made the deal! but i have Cignal as HD is the future.

Bakit nakalagay 8 HD Channels? Pero lumalabas dalawa pa lang ang totoong HD Channels?

I think they should be very clear about the REAL HD channels medyo misleading kasi. Ang daling mamiss ng fineprint.

sir how's the quality of the upconverted channels compared sa SD and true HD? sana makapag post tayo ng screenshots.

Already a subscriber na po ba kayo sir ng Cignal SD? if not, they have a promo now if im not mistaken only for PHP 1,500 you can avail of the SD stb set..

Wow ESPN's still bad? On regular cable ESPN probably has the one of the worst video signals in the channel lineup. Siguro just as bad as scifi.Akala ko at least maaayos nila when they upconvert.

Dati ito yung isa sa mga magaganda, pero after a while parang nagdeteriorate.

One guide on how to check if true HD na, may logo na CIGNAL-HD, pag SD or upconverted, red CIGNAL logo lang. Another way to check is see the quality of the broadcast esp. with people on it, pag true HD, well defined ang hair, crisp ang mga mata, shiny at eyelashes kitang kita. Skin tone are clear, even crevices and imperfections are visible.

Here are some pictures I took off the screen of my 50" SXRD to give you guys some idea of the signal quality. As of tonight (Oct 15) only 3 channels are truly HD (near-BluRay quality). These are HBO HD, StarMovies HD and History HD. The rest are upconverted although the red Cignal HD logo is displayed. Cignal's SD channels are very clear, especially CNN, Ch Q and Ch 7.

ch 52 NatGeo HD not HD

ch 53 History HD true HD

ch 54 Playhouse not HD

ch 55 blank

regarding the upconverted channels, another observation is that even if they have the "Cignal Hd" logo they still have the relative (mis)proportion of the images. If you have a 16:10 or 16:9 screen you would really notice them, making the images look stretched. They would end up looking like the SD channels, yet they would be cleaner of course. Maybe they never changed the aspect ratio to be well proportioned when they digitally enhanced the channels, nagiging klaro nga tumataba naman. The only way to deal with this is if you have a wide zoom option on your screens, thats what I do on my SD channels.

Nice pics Bong, good reference for Cignal HD would-be subscribers. The Cignal-HD logo has been implemented yesterday on all new HD channels so this is no longer a good indication if true-hd or upconverted. The good news is the new logo is translucent & non intrusive, good for our flat panel.
As for the aspect ratio, noticed this also, what I did was set the HD box to 16:9, 1080i, then set my tv panel to "full". Correct na yung AR.

@ Anchit, thanks :-) hd promo is really needed to spark interest. wish ko na sana 900 pesos na lang instead of 1290 ;-)

That's what I did too, set my TV to FULL and the STB to 16:9 to get the correct aspect ratio. I've been noticing that the SD channels are really getting very clear, I was watching CNN earlier and the video was very sharp. Maybe they are doing some processing on the SD's too?

BTW, according to my contact at Cignal the "enhanced" channels will ALL be full HD soon!

tapang ng red logo. they should've opted for translucent na white or something. para sa mga praning sa IR and burn in with plasmas.

Sir you can check po the price thru their website cignal.tv , ...Right now they have a SD promo of PHP1,500 if Im not mistaken......ang mura na ngaun,,, yung sa ken i paid about PHP6,000 plus pa e last april..

i got a call from an agent ng Cignal this afternoon, I inquired before kasi pero medyo off kasi yung steep almost 9k initial cash outlay, she mentioend that by END November there will be an HD package promo, kasi i told her that im really interested pero 9k is too much at bakit SD meron promo.

Wake me up when November ends.

History HD and HBO HD lang ang true HD broadcast, kitang kita talaga ang ebidensya, pero last night yung movie na Maid of Honor, upconverted lang sa HBO HD, siguro di nila nakuha HD version nito. Star Movies is super linaw but it is not true HD broadcast.
