nagpa install kami nung friday. we got combo (HD + SD) prepaid, incidentally meron palang 3+3 promo. pay 3 months get 3 moths free.

Initial cash out is a bit steep at 11870 (includes the sat dish & box; installation fee; + 3 months @ 1290) pero ok na din since may 3 months free so that fee is a total of 6 months.

general review:

HBO, Nat Geo, and History is good for HD. I am not so satisfied with Starmovies HD though, it is not HD enough for me, although it is not bad. The digitally enhanced HD channels (starsports, espn, etc) is good, F1 coverage was fantastic this way.

All the SD channels are of better quality than most cable we've had (we've tried sky and home before, and a friend has dream).

overall, sobrang sulit yung SD package; as for the HD package, 50-50 ako...hindi masyado sulit yung additional 990 for it (at least not yet) unless you absolutely love the 4 feature channel. 2 things are working againts the HD package at this point: 1) Audio is not surround encoded 2) quality and quantity (i wish there were more real HD channels)

but overall.. sulit!

off topic: minsan napapadaan ako sa net 25 news at may nakasulat na naka-broadcast sila in HD. nag-google din ako at yung concert ni Lea Salonga daw na-broadcast nila in HD? pero di ko makita kung saan mo mapapanood na channel...does anyone know? or was that for their audience abroad?

unless cignal rebroadcasts its signal then we can view it. you need to have a digital tuner, specifically the japanese standard and tune to the channel.

May mga naka-Cignal po ba dito malapit sa Novaliches area?
Ayos po ba ito kumpara sa Sky Cable?
Plano po kasi namin mag-Cignal. Ang labo kasi ng Sky Cable dito sa amin.
At para na rin masulit ang HDTV.

Since it is using Sat Disk, it all depends on the set-up (positioning of the disk).
By the way, sa mga naka Sat disk, okey ba signal kahit umuulan, especially Rainy Season na?

P990 = HD Channels Only
P1290 = HD+SD Channels

Correct niyo na lang po kung mali.

Any feedbacks po sa mga subscriber ng Cignal sa quality?

i use my rg6 instead of their cable, naka imbed na din kasi my cabling.

We have Dream Satellite. Samin ok naman maski umuulan. Sometimes mas malinaw pa yung signal pag-umuulan. Weird!

yun cignal, ok lang pag "normal" rain no effect whatsoever. pero pag heavy downpour (as in super lakas) nawawala signal

so i keep our trusty old baron antenna still

. take note na very rare naman to mangyari, pag sobrang lakas lang talaga ng ulan

That's quite an affordable package. From Cignal web it says this package includes 21 channels. Can we add extra channels on top of this package? Some of the channels found in Skycable are not here so I presume those are exclusive to Skycable only.

no need for separate digibox. Just call their customer service advicing them of your intention of watching ppv and they will bill you for that. I think they have ppv for hd and ppv for sd channels.

Nice, good to hear this! This mean there is no other installation fee unlike Skycable which require a separate HD-box for PPV in HD.

350-550 is relatively cheap as compare to Skycable which charge around 1,500 for PPV!

Not sure if I heard wrongly, maybe the 1500 fee is for PPV in HD.

Flo, is Cignal charging P550 for the HD PPV? Or do you mean at 350-550 & you have the choice of selecting the PPV in SD or HD? Tnx

Cignal charge for SD and HD PPV same lang. 350 before ( SD and HD) during Pacquiao and Hatton . Highest so far na charge nila ay around 550 lang ( same price SD and HD). Subscribing for PPV makes my old man and neighbors happy

mga chief tanong lang, magkano babayaran ko kung upgrade ko sa SD+HD Bundle iyong current subcription ko na SD pa lang. Panibagong bayad ba ulit iyong pagpapalit ng set top box at installation and for how much?

dito kase sa tarlac nung dating magpakabit ako ng SD bundle ibang presyo sinisingil sa akin buti na lang alam ko promo nila nun kya wala silang nagawa nung sabihin ko na dapat ganito lang bayaran ko.

agree with the cignal logo comment. its intrusive. sana yung ibahin nila yung logo nila na letters na lang walang solid block.. that block of red in the cignal letter tends to hide things a couple of times, for instance tennis scores in the recent wimbledon, buti nung huli ni move nila to lower left.

I just noticed this one today, Cignal has converted the ESPN from upscaled to HD Format!!! WOW! Its just plain WOW!

Here are my HDTV Captures!! Please bear with me and the photos, talagang good for your eyes only yung HD Broadcast, hirap kunan ng photo without those "wave-like" thingy...

And then they also added two Channels but its currently blocked... Though I wont be watching much of that channel its best at least na naka activate yun sa account specially sa mga Cignal HD Bundle subs like most of us... The two channels by the way is Al Jazeera and NHK World.

I guess this is a call for Discovery HD Eh? Sulit na sulit ang Cignal!!! I can forgive those times na nawawalan ng signal pag may ulan, as its expected, bawing bawi naman sa HD Channels!! woohoo!!

i have been using cignal for almost a year now and compared to sky, my old provider, cignal's much better in terms of picture/signal quality. as far as the hd channels i wish they would offer more in the future.

One thing to watch out for, their warranty does not cover "acts of god" incidences. i had to pay 800 to have my cignal back on after the last typhoon.
