C-band is less susceptible to rain fade, pero they require bigger dishes (1.2m-3m).

Both KU and C bands have their pros and cons.

Since they were introducing the prepaid 430 and lately, yesterday morning.. Although I haven't check it today... it is a Humax stb..

AFC is now part of Plan590 effective Aug. 15

Plan430 HD only has 2 HD channels namely Star World and Outdoor

NBATV Premium is only available on Plan590 and up

yup.. I was wrong about NBAtv...
slightly OT: I was looking for HD transmission of different "tv stations" when I come across NHK world and BBC World News in clear, unencrypted, free-to-air HD. And it made me ponder why is it that Cignal had received and re-transmitted just the SD signal of NHK World and not the HD? And BBC, why is Cignal did not include it in it's news channel line up?

IMHO

1. Only NHK world is the legal broadcast allowed in Pinas, it even took time to acquire and be part of cignal channel lineup. Most cable provider includes channels that are illegaly acquired and re transmit them that includes nhk 1

2. Even if they can include those nhk and bbc HD channels, it will take more bandwidth and additional transponder resulting to higher cost and will be passedon to the subscribers. They need to weigh the channel availability and the need of the subscribers.

Sir pentium4, baka may "buy-back" plan kayo in place sa company nyo?

We recently were forced to evacuate from our Cainta home due to floods. Sa new residence namin (Condominium), bawal daw magkabit ng Cignal Satellite dish, so I can't use mine anymore.

Magpapakabit na ako ng SkyCable here (no choice), and am wondering if I can sell my Cignal Prepaid HD Satellite kit to you.. Complete with remote & set-top box, no damages.

Our Cignal subscription has just been activated last Sunday. Plan 1290 with 2 STBs. The problem is with one of the STBs. Just today, after 5 minutes or less being switched-on it suddenly lost its signal, as in wala lahat yong channels. Applying the hard reset and card reset, it again has a signal (strength=60, quality=75, level=163, BER=23.0, E=-7), but after 5 minutes or less, wala na naman.

The other STB has no problem, so sinubukan namin pagpalitin ng location, pero ganon pa rin...Is there anyone here please experiencing the same predicament?

did your installer put a DC block on one of your STB?
if they did not, make sure your LNB Powering is OFF on one of the STB (secondary)
Primary STB should be always on standby if you will use both STB.

Good day po Sir P4,

Checked the LNB Powering, naka-OFF naman po yong isang STB. Actually po yong naka-off yong nagloloko and yong isang STB (primary) na ok ay naka-ON. And the primary STB is always on standby.

Reported this to Cignal Care and they said the meron technician na titingin o tatawag within 48 hrs.

Anyway, is there any other possibilities that caused this problem?

Hindi kaya deffective talaga yong STB? It's a PACE DS830NPT.

you may check the coax connector on that faulty unit
it might be single strand of wire shorting connection with core solid copper cable.
it could be on your STB side or on the splitter side.

if all connections are okay, you may also check the LNB IN socket for any irregularity.
it might be due to improper crimping of F-connectors as well.

if all else fails, it could be the box
you may want to try to swap the boxes.
if the faulty box is still faulty on the other coax connection, then you have a defective box that is subject for replacement.

Sinubukan na po namin pagpalitin yong STB. same pa rin po yong nangyayari. It means ok po yong pagkakagawa ng connectors?

Na observed po namin recently na pag nililipat yong primary STB sa channels 25, 26, 29, 31, 33, 36, 37, 38, 40, 41, 42, 45, 46, 47, 48, 51, 52, 53, 59, 63, 64, 66, 67, 90, 91, 96, 97, 98, 100, 102, 104, 105, 106, 107 and 110 doon po nawawala ang signal doon sa isang STB.

Ano po kaya problema?

after swapping the STB, was the malfunctioning STB transferred also?
or it work okay on the new location?

if it still displays the same error when swapped, it means your STB is defective.

Yes, the malfunctionning STB was transferred and it was still experiencing the same problem/error.

Not until I browse on your previous comments-suggestions regarding the STB setting for PACE Top Box as per the transfer to the new satellite SES7 specifically on the LNB Type that it should be changed from Dual Band to Single Band with the Low Band LO frequency of 09750.

We found out kasi na naka Dual Band yong primary STB and naka Single Band na yong secondary STB (yong problematic).

So far parang ok na sya. Nalilipat na nang channels yong primary STB without losing signal sa secondary STB. Is it really the problem?
