from experience pag maulap/ambom...bad to worse ang quality ng local 'free to air' channels, naba-badtrip si wifey pag nawawala/choppy signal pag nanonood sya ng tsimis & late night telenovela nya, ayun naka-ready na yung indoor antenna in case of 'emergency' hehe ;D

Mga brod, tanong lang.

My signal strength is 100, level is 255, then my signal quality plays from 60 to 80, BER 47.OE-7

Okay na ba to?

brod, I am using cignal digital tv box skyworth hs8871. my signal strength is 60, quality is 100, signal level is 176, ber 0.0E-7.  how can I improve the strength and signal level? anybody? thanks.

You'll have to reposition your receiving dish. Pwede ikaw na gumawa or you can call your contractor for a fee.

thanks, gunslinger,
if I can increase the signal strength of my receiver will it improve the resolution of blurred sd channels like studio 23, nat geo, solar sports, stas sports, free to air channels, etc. thanks again,

AFAIK, it won't positively improve the "blurring" but it will minimise the "pixelation" due to weak signal received..

thanks, pamboy, I was thinking of the same thing, at this signal level there is not much pixelation so I think that "blurred channels" are the limitations of cignal, will you be able to know why. thanks again.
I am a former OFW in the middle east and the signal from free to air channels there via "nile sat" are exceptionally clear. I hope cignal can improve.

Pag umuulan po ba nawawala mga hindi local channels katulad ng star movies, hbo, history. O nawawala lahat?

that's one of the limitations of digital satellite receiver, pag subra cloudy or umuulan walang signal. although kung malakas ang signal mo, kung kunting ulan lang may signal pa rin.

I am using a cignal digital tv box skyworth hs8871, I am wondering what is that horizontal bar below the channel name when searching for tv channels, is it signal level? that indicator is way off what is on the signal strength and quality displayed on the satellite installation menu. anybody please. thanks.

Looks tempting, but there is no BBC World news channel; does Cignal plan to have it in the future?

Also, a question to current Cignal users: do the channels have commercials, like what SkyCable does to most of its channels?

I don't know if your box is the same as mine, but what I did is to connect my room tv  with an a/v cable, while the cignal box  in connected to our sala tv via the hdmi cable.

Di mo na siya puwede kabitan ng splitter kailangan mo kumuha ng another box.

Puwede mo kabitan ng splitter but you need additional box for your room.

di ba kayang eliminate ang pagkawala ng signal pag umuulan? effective ba paglalagay ng plastic cover sa LNB pra daw di mawala ang signal?

Nope.. you can either minimize it but not totally eliminate it.. One way of minimizing it is to replace the KU dish with much bigger dish. About 5(?) years ago, Dream Satellite offered internet tru satellite. They installed a much bigger dish compared to the dish for TVRO. Compared to the current dish of Cignal's, they are about 4 times bigger..

Finally bit the bullet and filled up an online subscription form just now for Plan 990. :D

QQs though fopr those with experience:

1. How long does it usually take for them to show up in your house for installation?
2. With an ongoing promo for 1 month free and 1000 pesos off installation charge if you subscribe to another cable company, does this mean, i virtually pay nothing for the fist month?

based on my experience...

1. usually a few days after you applied, they will come to your house to install the dish and box, then hintay ka uli a few days bago ma-activate yung account mo.. be sure complete ang documents mo at kulitin mo yung nag-install nai-submit agad sa cignal kasi yun ang pagbabasehan nila kung ia-activate na nila yung account mo, all in all 1 week aabutin..

2. yes, may dumating mang bill sa'yo may credits ka pa valid for the next month (ex. Php 990Cr)

A Tip. If you will install for 2 TVs make sure that the card inserted is for the correct box. Pag nagkapalit hindi gagana. This happened to me. Ayaw gumana. Pinalitan boxes. Ayaw pa din. Inabot one week. Yun pala swap lang cards ok na.

Update: after filling out the online subscription form, it turns out that i was suppossed to receive an actual application form via email which i never received until this afternoon, onlyu after calling the hotline to confirm my application.

So i was suppossed to fill up the application form and then send it back to them via fax or email (redundant considering nag online application form na ako) along with other supporting documents.

at this point, what i did was i went another route --- i called one of the territory partners. they were very helpful. at least i can course all actual hard copies of all the paperwork through them instead of emailing/faxing. Expecting them to come tomorrow between 2 to 4 pm. :)
