I wish to invite all of you to come to the opening of THE HOME THEATER on April 16, 2002 at the Ground Floor of Prince Tower, Tordesillas corner Bautista, Salcedo Village, Makati City ( almost at the back of the Makati Sports Club ) at 12:00 noon.

Vax- We paired it with a Denon CD player and OKs naman ang sound pero we need to have it running for about 2 hours para lumabas ang ganda ng tunog!
But later on I think we need to change some of the tubes kasi di na parepareho ang liwanag ng tubes pag-umaandar.

By the way, SONNY is very willing to provide us Mini Gatherings / EB Exclusive for PinoyDVD Members only in order for us to Audition the New Sets of YAMAHA AVR- ?30 Series and some Vacuum Tube Amplifiers, Denon, Mission, Musical Fidelity, Arcam, Audiophile CDs & DVDs which are available already there as well.
Any Friday afternoon or Saturday morning is the most advisable skeds for him. :)

Sorry for the delay in my response. Yeah, four very popular audiophiles were there at the opening but they came much earlier than your group. Mr. Johnny Cruz , undoubtedly one of the most respected audiophile in the Philippines and owns the most expensive set up I have seen in my life, even outclassing the classiest single ended set ups I have seen in the US and Europe. Mr. Rene Rivo was also there, truly the go to guy for vacuum tubes. This guy is the man I respect most when I want an opinion on a speaker and or electronics. Of course, some others were invited but for some reasons or another did not make it.

We'd listen to the CHT 10, equipped with a 10" forward firing driver, capable of 375 watts of dynamic power ( 150 watts rms ), the CHT 12 , with a 12" forward firing subwoofer, that delivers 400 watts of dynamic power ( 170 watts rms ) and the highly acclaimed VLF 1012. This model has a 10" woofer paired with a 12" passive driver, capable of delivering 415 watts of dynamic power ( 150 watts rms ). It is worth taking your time out to hear the 1012.

Hi Guys,
It appears , next Saturday , May 18 , is the most appropriate date for the EB, to give everybody ample time to prepare , especially me.. And then, we make use of this coming week to discuss what we want to listen to and what we have to prepare on that date.
Besides, I came to know this morning that it is going to be the opening day of Jeco's basketball tournament and my presence was requested on Saturday morning. And it was his birthday yesterday, May 8 and I thought that I couldn't turn down that request.
Let's have breakfast together on May 18 as we listen to music. And maybe , I should add that, we start early , about 8:00 am so we do not run out of time. Besides, that's the cooler time of the day.
Music, the DTS-ES GLADIATOR, brewed coffee... nothing beats that on an early Saturday morning. Or perhaps , that could be a family gathering , too.

Sinadya kong hindi isama ang OKOY hoping na walang makaalala. Eh ngayon palang 2 na nakaalala.
Problem is di ko alam kung available na ang OKOY by that time. Bahay lang kasi iyon so sa morning nila ginagawa ang OKOY.
Dati kasi mga lunch time ko na nakuha ang OKOY sa kanila.
Eh sa Friday (bukas) naman, may lakad ako with my utol and friend so too late na for me to pass by and get it.
Tignan ko na lang kung may work around.

i am a beginner with this home theater thing. Anyway, i am planning to get one complete set up and i have seen a couple of packages in the newspaper but i have no idea which one to get.
I would like a philips dvd player(mutliregion), flat screen TV that is also mutliregion, and speakers as well as a subwoofer to match.
Do you have any package that you sell which would meet these requirements?

The Thiel speakers were outstanding audio loudspeakers. Ganda at malinis ang tunog especially when matched with your tube amp.

Nagkausap din kami ni SONNY today and talagang nagso-sorry siya sa atin kasi medyo nagloloko daw ang computer kaya hindi nya na-check pinoy activities and most of all ay biglaang abroad/business trip this coming Saturday for HongKong, tomorrow na nga pala yun. :)

Here's what happened (as per Sonny). Some of his suppliers were not able to fulfill their commitment to deliver their stuff. Actually, pati daw yung aircon system, nabitin.
I was able to talk to him this morning and he said that some of the systems are already up and ready for auditioning.

I finally met sir Sonny yesterday... nagbakasakali lang ako na open sila today since I was scouting for speakers stands... I ended up buying my subwoofer from him... a polk audio PSW10 plus an IXOS subwoofer cable... may kasama pang 2 audiiphile cds ;D

Here's the picture of the Nautilus MDF w/ free 1 set of (4) spikes:

The spike catches included in this model is different so you dont have the option to put the spikes in between layers, only on the lowest layer for the free set of spikes. But you can still order another set of the optional spikes and place it between layers.
Box size: its collapsible so kaasya yan sa car.

Meron sir, but I doubt the top layer will fit a 50inch plasma, unless the "footprint" of the plasma is small.
Its 900mm wide & 400mm deep (slim type, wont fit receivers). Go for the Centauri B na lang, mas bagay sa 50 inch mo 8).

I have a confession to make guys. Despite the many times I auditioned it in shops, I NEVER liked the B&W 6 series. No offense to B&W owners. It so lacked the dynamics I was looking for.
But yesterday I heard the B&W 601 + BADA hybrid integrated Mang Sonny was raving about. WOW!!! :o I am officially & humbly taking back everything (neg) I said about B&W (6 series) in this forum!
Now I am a B&W 6 series FAN!!!
Apparently most of those I auditioned in shops before must have been w/ underpowered amps, so I never heard these babies sing this well.

Sir Matzter, got the nautilus (black glass) and 1 set of optional spike last Friday. I was not able to install the optional spike, intended at the shorter tube frame for the included screws are long. I would need 4 pcs of shorter screws (20mm instead of 40 mm) allen screw. Pls advise if screws would be available today for pick up.

I dont have any more stocks of the 2 channel to compare it with the hybrid, besides it wont be an "apple to apple" comparison since the hybrid has a pre-amp section while the power amp does not.
But supplier told me before that the hybrid uses high grade parts that they could not include in the lower priced models due to cost implications. The pre-amp section of the hybrid w/ 4 tubes is very good, so probably (just a hunch) the hybrid will still sound better than a tube pre-amp plus the bada power amp. But it would also depend on the pre-amp.
the only store capable of letting you audition both (as of now) is SGT Home theater, as they have a hybrid unit and a Bada tube pre-amp there. I dont know if they have sold the 2 channel power amp I saw there a few days ago, as I was told it was already reserved.

Just bought my 2nd LC from Butch and SGT. Many thanks for the kind accommodation. This time around, I decided to get the BIGGGER one, LB-5500 - more sockets and mas guapo rin! ;) Would fit well in my PC room where I have my PC and secondary HT set-ups combined in one room. The LB-5500 allows me to just switch on one row of sockets depending on whether I will surf or watch movies. Less clutter rather than plugging in another extension cord with a switch to the Bada to segregate the two set-ups.

Just wanted to say thanks for the very quick and courteus service of SGT ....
I spoke to sonny at 10am about getting a Denon 2809 reciever ( a non stock item) and by 3:30pm in the afternoon he was able to get a unit all the way from commonwealth ave , invoiced in Makati and delivered in Alabang . All at a great price and without me ever having to leave the house....

WHY what happened to Sonny Tuazon? Has the man fallen sick? Its lamentable that dealers like him would be compulsed to close shop because of a flood of cheap Chinese A/V imports from stereo systems to LCD TVs; or, get overwhelmed by "Duh?" mall-based competitions who'd sell an P80,000 equipment today, and pulls it down to P50K two months later.

My condolences too, to Butch and family. Sonny was a true friend of our community, very accommodating and kind with his advice and wise counsel. I recall on lunch times I would just go to your store to browse and always felt welcome. Although I managed to buy just 1 set of speakers from him, he treated me as a valuable customer. One time he even offered for me to take home a very expensive amplifier for audition (which I politely declined), and on another occasion, a sealed floorstander speaker, which I simply couldn't accept his very generous offer. My prayers for his eternal repose and to your family, to find comfort in your grief. Hope you continue your father's legacy.

Been a while since i browsed PDVD (out of country for good) and was saddened knowing SGT is long gone. Praying for your eternal repose SIR. I got almost all of my HT stuff from the store and your business model is beyond comparable.
The moment you visit the shop, just name drop any PDVD member who dealt with him and you will for sure be going home with goodies (paid in full or oftentimes in monthly terms).
See you in the next lifetime Sir Sonny! You have lived and served the HT community with the purest intention of sharing what you have....You will for sure be missed
