went back to 1.0.3 too. too many files hanging or the green flashing. will have to do with the "uglier"  ;) gui for now. at least it's stable.

also tried the iphone remote feature. it's a nice extra feature indeed. may lag nga lang konti...

Is this the time that I will say:

"Told yah so... " hehe!!!

Peace!!! ;)

Could you possible tell me the exact filename so I can search for that on the web? Hopefully I can find a match. Usually nakakalat lang yan sa Internet and there is a possibility I can pickup the same file.

Please tell me the exact size of the file as well.

Pardon me but this is my opinion on using beta FW.

There is a reason why it is called "beta". It may not necessarily be the same when the "official" FW is released.

Let us not expect so much from it and let us not be conclusive about it.

Unless we participate as beta testers and provide test results to the developers, it may not be fair to pre-judge the final release based on the betas. This goes for any NMT and not just Xtreamer.

I'm not fond of using betas as I know there will possible problems with it. I'd rather get the finished FW afterwards and then complain if I find problems with it.

But then that is just me. :)

You're pardoned sir.. hehe!!! Just kidding...

We are not trying to bust FW2.0, we just gave our impressions. As I have said on my previous post, Im not expecting much on this because this is still in beta stage. I would definitely understand if the problem is with the new features, but here the problem lies on the main purpose of it, that is to play HD movies. Funny thing is, the ones that were not able to play and hanged were played flawlessly on the previous version.  ;D

So I reverted the FW back to 1.0.3.1, and will wait for the official release. ;) Then I would bust it to the max if that issue still exist!!!  :D

Also tried the BETA 2.0, medyo sluggish nga yung browsing but mas streamlined na yung GUI which is nice. Connecting it to my Yamaha RXV663, the  HD audio streams - Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio now sounds but is only downmixed to normal Dolby or DTS. Hopefully when the official firmware comes out, recognized na talaga mga ito.

BD iso file main feature is now playable too, but no menus yet.
Thanks to the PMPC for the award - Digital Movie Sound Engineer of the year in the 28th Star Awards!

Xtreamer Official Forum

Hi Everybody,

If you get a chance, try and join the Xtreamer Official Forum
forum.xtreamer.net

The manufacturer needs inputs from Xtreamer users in order to
improve.

Do you like your Xtreamer?  Want certain features? Want to
report a bug?  The forum is where you can make yourself
be "heard" by the company and by the community.

There's neat Live Chat feature where you can interact with
people from all over.  Let me know if you guys think that a
"Philippines" chat room is necessary.  Some chat rooms are
country-specific, maybe because they are non-English-
speaking?

Finally got my wi-fi dongle. Thanks Eric. Was able to use it already...no sweat, was able to watch youtube, get the weather, watch international news and other stuff except when i click on the the NET, it's asking for my account and password, I'm not sure where to get it since I didn't put any in my pc. Care to teach me the walkthrough. Thanks again.

Good to know it was a "no-sweat" set up for you.  I'm not quite sure where to look... what OS are you running on your PC?  My PC has been configured to share an entire hard drive; I can browse it from the Xtreamer without having to enter an account name and a password.

If you're using Windows Vista, try downloading the Xtreamer User Manual (click on Download Center from the splash page of www.xtreamer.net)

hi nogie - HDX 1000 ang media player ko na mayroong 'component video'. Special price ngayon sa PinoyDVD Marketplace

You can also try using an HDMI-to-component cable.  I don't think this will be hard to find.

Modified 1.0.3.1 firmware with ctorrent
« Reply #317 on: Oct 24, 2009 at 05:58 PM »
For those of you who want to play around with torrents:

http://drop.io/8u3j1hv#

There is modified 1.0.3.1 firmware with run.html and exec.php, telnetd and ctorrent also included.

This mod is NOT from Xtreamer.

Go to page 13 of  the message thread "HACK: Running custom commands on Xtreamer" which is on the Xtreamer Official Forum forum.xtreamer.net

I haven't tried it.  If there is an enterprising soul who installs the mod, pls post and let us know if it worked.

That said, FW Ver.2 is being released soon.  Once you upgrade, your mod will probably be overwritten.  Might not be worth the bother.

Will eTRAYz be available in the Philippines?
« Reply #320 on: Oct 26, 2009 at 12:22 PM »
hi eric,

Hi!

We will bring in the eTRAYz if there is sufficient demand for it.

eTRAYz is a full-blown NAS, with approx. the same functions as NETGEAR,
QNAP and SYNOLOGY  equipment - but at a much lower price.

It's not as indispensable as the media player itself -  so the market is going
to be much more limited ... to people with media players, with router and
internet access, with cash to invest in an eTRAYz and at least a 2TB hard
drive x 1.

The buyer needs to have some technical skills in order to make full use the ff:

Web Server
File Server
Email Server
Torrent Client
Usenet Client
IP Camera Server
UPnP
Rapidshare-like service

It's a pretty powerful piece of equipment, but not everybody will need or have the
capability to use it.  Mura lang nga... so even if you just use it for shared storage,
it's a good buy.

Yes, is the firmware available now?

Hello everybody - to check if the new firmware has been released, please visit www.xtreamer.net and go to the Download Center.

As of this writing, FW Ver 2.0 has not been made available for download.

I'm waiting for it too!  :D

P.S.  One of the Global Moderators (he's also a FW beta-tester) on forum.xtreamer.net announced an Oct. 27 release date.  XtreamerAdmin, on the other hand said they hope to release it before Nov. 01
