@Tempter
@iPhat (sorry if I am unable to reply to your PM, bit busy lately - it's shopping festival here in Dubai ;))
What is the address that you are typing in your browser? I won't be able to check this till the weekend as I am currently @ work and my unit is around 150 KM away from me  ;D but would let you know once I tried it.

xxxx.myxtreamer.net where xxxx is my registered name in setup.

Have you successfully accessed your xtreamer via web?

« Reply #781 on: Feb 03, 2010 at 02:50 PM »
Hi all, home theater newbie here :)

I just bought an Xtreamer and a 1TB external HD and i'm planning to purchase the LG's 32LF20 + LG HT554TM (home theater).

My question is, how will i incorporate the Xtreamer to this set up (32lf20+ht554tm)?  I mean how will i connect them together?

2nd question although not related to NMTs but im taking a long shot here (sorry mods),  wala pa bang stock ng LG 32LH70? :P

You said that you have done the port forwarding on your router. Please see your firewall log and see if the below show up;

   210.109.97.109   8000 on TCP Protocol

Probably your firewall is blocking it. You should also get a success message if your DDNS has been accepted (ie, username might have been taken already).

GOOD LUCK!!!

This puzzles me a bit, YES a message pops up that DDNS change was success(or something similar). But after that a new LOGIN window pops up and was unable to login. Is this normal? I tried every username password combination that I am using but still unsuccessful. Is there a default username password? I checked the page that it was accessing and its xxxx.myxtreamer.net/setup_ddns.php or cgi, i think  :P

On the Xtreamer Media Server Page (web interface) @ the top you have a LOGIN tab there. Do you have the box ticked or not? And what FW is your Xtreamer?

For those who are planning to hook up their extreamer to HTIB via optical input, check first if the optical input can decode DTS and DD. I'm currently using RCA to connect my extreamer with my Panasonic HTIB because the optical input cannot decode DTS.
I can stop speaking but I cannot so easily silence my thoughts...

I think that login is for accessing setup page. The one I'm referring to is a popup login that shows whenever I register it.

My FW is 2.0 i believe hehe!!! I don't remember exactly if I have updated it to later 2.0 version. It's been a while.

Just want to ask:
What is the 24hz option is for? Should it be on or off?
When changing subtitles, can I do it on the fly without the video pausing?

If memory serves me right, movies are shot using 35mm film with a speed of 24Hz.  Bluray content is shot at 24fps. I think this option of the Xtreamer allows it to match this output frequency. But I also think that your tv must be capable of displaying 24Hz. I set mine to Off.

None that I know of, I would also like to know if there a shortcut for switching the subtitles on/off?

Hi! is there any work around for mac user and xtreamer. Most of my media are downloaded from my mac. I can't  transfer files larger than 4GB to my FAT32 formatted HD. Is there a way for my xtreamer to access the movies through LAN?

Mac user ako...

2 ways of doing this...

1. Change your FAT32 formatted HD to NTFS.

Download NTFS-3G Community Edition for Mac OS X and install it. You can then read and write NTFS formatted drives in Mac OS X which the xtreamer can read and gets around the 4GB file size limit of FAT32. Remember there's 2 versions, the free community version and the commercial version (Tuxera). I use the community version (freeware) and it works just as well (albeit slower).

2. Let your xtreamer access your Mac

Go to system preferences > Sharing

- Put a check on File Sharing
- Add the folders where your content is in your mac
- Add users who can access it (Everyone)
- Click on Options
- Put a check on "Share files using SMB/Windows
- Put a check on "{your mac's name}'s Guest"
- Click on Done

From here you can access your Mac's drive in the xtreamer from Media Library > Net

I just tried it now and it's working perfectly even if my Mac is on WIFI as long as of course your LAN is fast enough :)

Good Luck

Nice, firmware update!

Kelan kaya yung firmware 3.0 na may Rich GUI?  Tempted to switch to the PCH A200 kasi if its Rich UI will really come out in March.  Otherwise, kung meron din ang Xtreamer soon... I'd rather keep it na lang.  Besides, mas matched yung red theme nung Xtreamer UI sa red theme nung LG Scarlet namin, hehehe.
