I'm using a 32" LG LH70 with the Xtreamer. My problem is every time I turn on the Xtreamer it just shows the boot screen then the screen goes black and no signal appears.I have to pull and reattach the HDMI cable at the back of the Xtreamer for it to display the home page. any workaround on this?

TIA

If it's a new Xtreamer, please attach the RCA (red/white/yellow) cables then set the TV output settings (of the Xtreamer) to the correct HDMI output resolution to match your LG.

After that, you can remove the RCA cables.

Good luck

Bro if your HDD space then copy the whole folder and if you have fast CPU much better to convert it to mkv to save HDD space.
But I think extremer can play DVD straight. HTH.  ;)

If I may add to Chess response.....decrypt either to Iso or vob files, both are easily recognized and playable with the Xtreamer and will render the same replicated resolution of the original source; converting it to other media types will not improve it's resolution.

Sirs pa advise naman. I am currently using my Xtreamer with my 500 GB Seagate portable hard disk via USB. What is the best way to remove the HD via USB? What I normally do is I just switch off the Xtreamer and remove the HD. But my problem is when I insert the HD to my PC or Laptop it always says it needs to be fixed, which means that the HD was not not properly removed.

Kindly advise as I dont want my HD to malfunction in the future beacuse I may have not removed it properly.

Thanks.

Yup, good that you raised the issue bro wacksy, I also have the same concern. This happen only to USB hard drive, but for thumb drives it does not prompt that it needs to be fixed. In my case, I go to the home menu first before I turn off the xtrmr, this minimize the need to fix, but does not eliminate it. Please advise. TIA.

Are you using a Vista OS?

I came across this Vista quirk, but reported only with Ipods. (Kindly just goggle, there's a solution in there)

Now I have not experienced this with my Xtreamer and HDPro.

I have an internal HDD for both the Xtreamer and HD Pro, but of course as what we all know, we always use an external HDD most of the time either for a new movie, or simply file transfers....and lastly, I usually do my file transfers with the PCs that run on XP.

BTW...I have the latest official FW update.

Of BTW...

This happens on both vista and windows 7. Sometimes it also happens on Win XP. I also have the latest firmware 2.2.
Bro Alfie, I also experience the noisy fan at startup, I even reinstalled firmware 2.2 but to no avail. The noise will eventually  stop when the home menu appears.

Did you install an internal HDD?

I even use the HDD on my WD HDTV and did not bother to delete the wd installed folder, and I don't experience it with my Windows XP Pro and Home.

BTW...thanks for confirming the fan shrill effect on startup.

I tried using MAKEMKV software (freeware) to convert  DVDs to mkv.  The resolution is the same(no degradation) and the file size is the same as that of the original file(no size compression).  The software is very easy to use, just choose the file to convert, check on the subtitles and language to include and it will convert DVDs in a few minutes.

Yes, it's normal.  The fan is starting out at high-speed upon boot-up.  After it settles down to Low or Medium speed, the noise is reduced.

Alfie,

Thats the exact thing I called Eric before. Nudge it a bit it will go away. But now you have to nudge it more often to eliminate the noise. The Sidewinder I think is a must! Hope Eric gives a promo for us! Paging ERIC!  ;) ;D

If you have an Xtreamer with a fan that's always loud, try tightening the screws that hold the fan in place.

OT ...I dont own extreamer nmt. but I read much of this thread & it seems most of NMT dealers we have here in PDVD Xtreamer has the most active support thru Bitstream. Though Im happy with my current NMT I envy those who have xtreamer, why? because there's always new with this stuff & some issues answered so fast.  keep it up! Bitsream.  8)

If it's a new Xtreamer, please attach the RCA (red/white/yellow) cables then set the TV output settings (of the Xtreamer) to the correct HDMI output resolution to match your LG.

After that, you can remove the RCA cables.

Good luck

I thought for a while that the issue has already been fixed but its happening again. While watching, the screen suddenly goes black and displays no signal.I have to reattach/adjust the connection of the HDMI cable at the back of the Xtreamer for the image to return.By the way, I'm not using the included stand so my Xtreamer is placed flat horizontally on a table.

Could it be a case of a faulty HDMI cable?I'm using the one included in the package.I've done the steps suggested above.Anyone here having the same problem and who has theirs placed horizontally flat?Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in Advance

^^ I have mine horizontally flat (the base always snaps out) on top of my A110 ;) HDMI connected. No issues whatsoever.

Try it with another HDMI cable, as that would probably the problem.

Should be ok lying on its side, but please keep the HDD right-side up.  You can buy 3M plastic feet at hardware stores such as Ace and True Value - if you affix these to the bottom (formerly a side panel) of the Xtreamer, it will keep it from sliding around and will create space below for heat to escape.

By removing and re-attaching the HDMI cable, you are forcing the TV and the Xtreamer to perform a "handshake" anew, thus re-establishing the connection by HDMI.  I assume for now that there is no mechanical problem in the connection (cable is plugged in firmly at both ends and is not being worked loose by the position of the Xtreamer, etc).

Things you can try:
0.  Instead of removing and re-attaching the HDMI cable, turn the TV off/on - does the image re-appear?
1.  Attach the Xtreamer and HDMI cable to another TV and observe if you still have a a blackout problem
2.  Try using a different HDMI cable

Anybody tried to install the Xtreamer as a media player for cars? Planning to have this setup soon:

Current setup:
Pioneer P80RS with Aux in

Future Setup:
Xtreamer NMT
AVT IM621 Indash Monitor
2 Generic Headrest Monitor (optional)

I've two concerns though.
1. Interference from the car's electronics. (Static?)
2. Would a use of a video splitter affect PQ?

Thanks!

Xtreamer Ver2.3 Release!!!

http://forum.xtreamer.net/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=13252&start=0

:) I installed this last night, didn't notice that it's a new release. Seems to be ok but haven't extensively tested it as didn't notice it's a new release...

Been busy setting up a NAS using my old SHUTTLE PC and some old hardware I have lying around. Anyone who can suggest a good WATT Meter?

firmware upgrade report and a bit of a warning.

I installed 2.3 last night and did my usual sets of test.  All things went well but there is a major bug (on my xtreamer at least); xtreamer restarts when I tried to play a flac file.

I went back to 2.2.  As usual, I am a bit annoyed that xtreamer released this firmware without thoroughly testing  >:(
