The remote is wonderful. It's now the most expensive looking remote on my table haha! :)

By the way, I have noticed that the R200 detected external hard drives much faster after the FW update. I think it shaved off up to five seconds, which is quite significant.

I've only just browsed the new fw and it definitely looks better. Questions on the additional features though. I couldn't get the jukebox or youtube to work. It was saying something like service unavailable or something like that. It also says something like unable to play media in youtube. I was able to get the radio, picassa and weather to work. Weather would be more useful if it's possible to make Manila the default city. Pwede kaya?

Bro Jim,i just noticed that my laptop still scans my hdd every time I connect it. same issue i posted way back is still recurring.the laptop scans(check disks) both my external and internal hdds. i've done everything on the NMT like proper shutdowns and making sure i stop the movie before turning it off and also BT/Samba is disabled. what can be the issue here?

@r200 users: do you guys experience this as well? if not, what are you doing properly for the issue not to happen.

I'm a bit concerned with the 2tb hdd's lifespan.please help. thanks.

Hi vortex1,

Are you on the 3-in-1 v39 firmware or still at the v39 old firmware?

Only reason, after all services are down,  is that there are other mapped drives that still keeps your disks in use, such that when the NMT shuts down, it leaves it in an open state and thus a filesystem check is necessary.

i already updated it to the 3in1 v39. so what can we do about this? what other ways can this NMT terminate all its services in order for it to shutdown properly?

It seems that I'm the only one experiencing this.

How many network enabled devices do you have at home? i'd suspect there's one that accessing the service passively. or that the AV ondemand is scanning proactively mapped drives. I normally off on demand and exclude mkv files

I also encounter this with my Egreat R1-II. I'm using a WD Elements, waited for about a minute before pushing the standby button. But when connected to my computer, it scans the hd for errors. Tried this for about three times. The r1-ii wasn't network connected.

only the laptop is wifi enabled. i really don't think that's the issue bro. the question is, why wouldn't this device shutdown properly and terminate any active jobs/services on its device upon shutdown?

Can you kindly bring this up on Egreat website? thanks for the help.

i really think this is a big problem as all our HDDs lifespan will be affected. next thing you know, your hdd already had multiple bad sectors and that's the start of an HDD failure.

copied this and sent to them for support.

I looked at your issue before, and last night, I've been doing R200 in 3-in-1 firmware on R200. when i plug my laptop via USB slave, i dont get it as long as i stop the movie(if on disk) before powering down. no special services running.

just the same I copied below and ask what they think.

R1-ii and R200 has different fw so i'll log it seperately. Need help with screen shot of your services running just to make sure we've documented it.

To share, currently i use R1-ii is now doing transmissions downloads and when i power off, check on a PC via USB slave, i confirm the DL services shutdown properly in R1-ii. that said, i think the services shut down properly.

I'll try to access SMB services later and see if i can duplicate your concern.

Somethings there in the settings (admittedly daming setting ngayon ng R1-ii UI). I'm getting a WD elements monday so i'd have a close the services if you are not using it via config. mine is all off except the Transmissions.

@vortex, is your disk WD elements or internal also behaves like so?

Hi vortex1,

They tried duplicating your problem and cant find how you get your reported case.

They asked you try to:
a. as USB slave (internal drive), scandisk NMT drive for loose file/folder pointer
b. remove NMT from network (to isolate passive drive mounts/scan) and reboot
c. as NMT, watch video, stop, select other drive / USB, then power off (as sequenced)
d. repeat item a, if access to drive will prompt the error again.

meantime, i've asked if they can include a safe powerdown filesystem unmount check before pressing power. They have not yet replied on this suggestion.

I do think that I'm not the only one experiencing this issue. they probably don't notice this yet.

Here's what I have:
1 80GB USB 2.5 in. external HDD connected to the USB port of the R200
1 2TB WD 3.5in. internal HDD connected to the SATA port
1 2TB WD 3.5in. internal HDD inside the NMT tray

I did all of these steps:
a. as USB slave (internal drive), scandisk NMT drive for loose file/folder pointer
b. remove NMT from network (to isolate passive drive mounts/scan) and reboot
c. as NMT, watch video, stop, select other drive / USB, then power off (as sequenced)
d. repeat item a, if access to drive will prompt the error again.

I then connect them 1 by 1 to my laptop. Windows 7 performed scandisks on these drives:
1 80GB USB 2.5 in. external HDD connected to the USB port of the R200
1 2TB WD 3.5in. internal HDD connected to the SATA port

only the drive inside the tray was safely opened by Windows.

Can you pls submit this to egreat for them to evaluate. thanks again bro.

Hi vortex,

in below, if internal drives are not having scandisk prompt on windows, then is it safe to assume the internal drives unmount properly? (yes/no)
or not always?(sometimes internal drive, all the time internal drive, never happens)

so in effect, only the external USB + bare sata is experiencing this scandisk prompt on windows.

A few inquiries on my end:

Is it isolated for every power up, playback, powerdown sequence? (yes/no)
or does it manifest on power up, powerdown without playback? (yes/no)

Just the same i cut below and reported your observation.
