Hi Guys, I am new to the forum. I just got my egreat R6s and using it with HD and 3D content on my 2TB WD my book essential usb 3.0 HDD connected to the USB 3.0 port on R6s. I played 3D mvc file which is 19gb in size without any problem. I then played a HD movie wich is also under 20GB fine. I then tried Iron Man which is around 27GB and it keep stuttering a lot. Are there any known file size limitations on the R6s?

All my files are BluRays extracted using MakeMKV. I am connecting the R6s to my Onkyo TXNR-626 which feed to my Projector and TV. Please can someone help me resolve this? I am on the firmware 3.0.5.5 currently.

I see that the power adapter is a 12V 2A one. So probably I have R6S plus pro. It has Sata connection on 1 side and 3 usb ports on the other side.

In version Info I see System: 369480. Is this the serial number?
Software version is 3.0.5.5. It came with 3.0.5.6, but I tried installing custom firmware and bricked it. Then found a factory 3.0.5.5 online and flashed it to unbrick.

I ran many other movies and tested, It seems that the stuttering seems to be specific to "Iron Man" only. All other movies run fine even with size around 40GB. Iron Man runs fine on my XBMC which runs on a HP microserver with ATI HD6450 graphics card.

2. Subtitles are always on. I have to go into subtitle options for each movie and disable them.
3. I don't seem to find BT process anywhere in the menus. How do I access this option?
4. I am able to enable Transmission PT process, but can't access it from my computer using http://ipaddress:9091.

Any help is appreciated.

A: OPEN Wifi security, move 10 ft away, see if you can connect. I can access it fine  and i trust your model has an antenna sticking out?

A: yes, this is the case for subtitles.

A: hmm. dapat neighborweb dapat ang prompt mo bro, IPaddress only and at port 80 (omit this since its the default)
I always hated Realtek NMT for DL, anything its really good for is the play media, I go to the cheaper tablets
In R6S, It will require you to forward your default storage for get this to work.

i never had success on transmissions in any of the realtek, i got it working with sigma (s800/S900/S100) and it runs spectacularly well. but these days, my go to DL is the tablet.

pero kung wala, search for movie file sa opensubtitles.org, download the closest one. then rename to the exact video file name, but retain the extension (i.e. sub or *.srt)

A: to isolate, login to your router and temporarily set Wifi security to OPEN (allow anyone to connect) distance should not be an issue.  I can access it fine  from 20 ft and i trust your model has an antenna sticking out screw the antenna tight just to make sure. or are you using a USB wifi dongle?

A: yes, this is the case for subtitles if they exist.

A: access via http://ip address you should see neighborweb

Thanks very much for the detailed response. I will try the BT url and wifi settings today and get back with my results. I don't plan to use the BT and transmission from egreat, but will be handy if they work.

wifi on the other hand will be handy too if I can get it working. I currently have WPA2-PSK configured. I will play around with no security and WEP too.

PS. Where did you go for your holiday? I haven't seen much of UK myself. Has been here only 5 years now. My native place is India.

My wife's cousin said exactly the same thing!

We booked a  3 BR apartment @ bridgestreet Apartment Near the Millennium bridge/St. Pauls Cathedral. I cant keep up with the tour packages so we opted to do it free and easy--

The following are must see:
- take the Stone Hedge, Winsor Castle & Bath bus tour
- spend a day in Hampton Court (we took the train here)
- whispering walls of St. Pauls
- oxford and regent street shopping
- i never liked the Harrods but went anyway then go Hamleys toystore (if you have kids to buy presents for )

I am sure you already know by now that London is best enjoyed 3rd week as you have the "best chance" to get some sun and flowers are in bloom.

back to topic, WEP would work fine i cant recall if WPA2 or WPA that worked for me.

^ I have been to a few places from your list . I work next to St.Pauls cathedral so have been to that area a lot. I had a holiday last year and visited Windsor castle, Stonehenge and Bath.... remaining places, not sure when I will go to.

There are some very nice places to visit if the weather is good... but it always rains here .

I checked my wireless router, but WEP is only available if I set it to 54Mbps mode. Probably not an option for me. I am considering leaving it where it is or to try no security without broadcasting SSID.

I also tried WPS by entering pin and also push button. Both didn't work.

I have now moved the device to about 2 ft away from router, to the place where I wanted it to be. This time, I didn't change anything but wireless is working fine. Not sure why it didn't work last time. So I didn't bother about changing wireless settings .

I tried the BT url, but below is what I get. Very strange. Only samba is working. I don't want to bother about BT and Transmission now. I am giving up.



But I am curious to know one more thing about R6S. Not sure if anyone used this for Full 3D Frame Packed videos? I extract my 3D movies using MakeMkv and play them using R6S. But it wasn't detecting the 3D in MKV files. If I select side by side from the menu, then it plays it in frame packed 3D. I now edited the 3D movie file name to include 3d.sbs. Now it automatically plays it in 3d. But what I am not sure is why I need to tell the player that it is a sbs player (even though it is not an sbs, but frame packed).

I may have missed but what's your firmware version?
I am not familiar with MakeMkv, i DL most of my files and just works untouched so i always assumed it reads the encoded header from the file to detect if its HSBS or 3D. I was not aware file name string pattern matching matters during playback.

My current firmware version is 3.0.5.5. Usually downloaded movies are not frame packed 3D. They will be sbs or tab. These play fine in the R6S. But if you save a copy of 3d bluray disk using makemkv, it creates an mkv file preserving the quality. The files are big usually around 30gb. These files are not detected automatically as 3D in R6S. If I add .3d.sbs. in the file name, then they play fine.
