PRESS RELEASE: For media circulation

The Coming of Age of the Pinoydiophile

Wiredstate.com is an Internet forum for the Pinoy audio community fused by passionate discussions on equipment, media and most of all the music. The random ramblings are finding its voice and venue on June 27, 2004 for the first ever Philippine Audio Fair to be held at the LPL Manor, Salcedo Village, Makati.

The event will round up the latest top brand audio gear in both analog and digital, showcase vintage hi-fi and DIY audio equipment and include sales and trading of new and used vinyl and Cds, new production and New Old Stock (NOS) vacuum tubes, audio kits and tweaks.

To experience the distinct brilliance and clarity of both tube and solid state sound, nine demo rooms will be put together. The show will likewise feature the innovative designs and creations of Filipino DIYers. Among the better established brand names to be presented in the show are Clearaudio and Nottingham turntables, Musical Fidelity Trivista Series, Dynavector cartridges, Vienna Acoustic and Triangle speakers, Antique Soundlab and Opera Audio amplifiers.

The Philippine Audio Fair will be on Sunday, June 27, 2004 at the LPL Manor, 23rd Floor, 116 LP Leviste Street, Salcedo Village, Makati from 10am to 6pm. Entrance is free. For inquiries, please call 813-6651 or email [email protected].

Vrion - cost of parts daw is around P200 (from Mickey) labor cost with their technician is P1,000, but if you know someone who can do it - they can allow that, pls pm vintage dog for details

Julsp168 - sa bahay ni VD yan kagabi, kanya yung rack

Tuff - excerpt from WS by joe3rp, nabasa ko na lang after the mod

Quote from: joe3rp
In my early days of audio/electronics (26 years+) I thought that DC coupling only equated to better low frequency response…but I am now learning in the Audio Forums and readings…it has an effect on the total sound of the amp.  The RC coupling results in a “signature sound” which is probably due to the capacitor residual voltage, linearity or symmetry in voltage charge/discharge speed and initial charge requirement.  These capacitor signatures are the result of the material (conductor, insulation and damping medium) and construction.  Note that some amp designers like this “capacitor signature” tuning capability.  But with DC…it is just a bunch of wires (maybe some coupling resistors)...But wires (resistors) also have their own “signature” sound…just listen to Hyperion’s KONDO cabling!!!! Somewhat like …super conductors! (That is a different story altogether!!! Just go to Darth Hansen Den and listen!).

iceman, the comments of joe3rp has *nothing* to do with DC filament mod. he was talking about direct coupled (DC) and capacitor coupled (which he called RC, in reality it is just capacitor coupling). this is about how the stages are coupled to each other, i.e., driver to power tube section.

DC filament heating and AC filament heating is an altogether a different story.
