well, i guess americans can see it as well... na nagiging wgwg nalang lagi ang nananalo..

http://www.deadline.com/2012/05/ratings-rat-race-american-idol-posts-lowest-rated-finale-ever/

i still think na mas ok pa lalo ang nangyari kay JS na di sya nanalo...

considering what she sang in the final round would be her first single if ever... (which were written to her by AI producers)... i guess they really tried to write a pop song for her but she couldnt deliver the way PP delivered his...  kumbaga, PP is fit to be the AI.. while jessica can be a rnb, soul, ballad, ano pa ba?

so pwede ma-filter ng judges yan.

for me nasira na sana ni Jessica yan pattern na yan kung naging puti sya.

No. Even if Jessica was white, she still would have lost to Philipp. No big perfectly hit notes could defeat a cute boy playing a guitar unless the voting procedure is revamped.

not surprised of the low ratings.   notwithstanding the predictable results, the performances and guest artists were mediocre imo.  i only tuned in to watch the aerosmith performance.  i mean, how many times can you watch j-lo lypsynching her latest, bland sounding new single with an army of dancers and guest rappers?  this kind of stuff has been done to death by just about everyone today.  kasawa na.

I conducted my own survey, so far dalawa pa lang naman natanong ko, I asked "Sa tingin mo, bakit hindi nanalo si Jessica?"

I'm planning to ask 8 more people of the same question mentioned above.

We all know Jessica is an AMERICAN citizen, otherwise, ma de-disqualify sya sa AI.

Anyway, I'll move on from here  ;D

Perhaps they should begin charging some amount for every vote in order to regulate the power of the 13- year olds.

After watching The Voice, those AI judges really suck...and that guy Jimmy who's pretending to be some kind of guru.

Also, I hope they would ban cheezy and old songs that are being sung like every year.  Jessica is a fine singer but her choice of songs, oh well.   Was happy to see a Filipina-looking singer that didnt sound like she came from ASAP but her singing style was rather boring, IMO.  Buti nalang nawala yung growl sa huli

Philip Philips...awesome sounding name...hahaha.   I liked the cute blonde Hollie with her English accent.

I have to agree with you, sir, on that Jimmy guy. He would choose a song for the participant, and then, after the performance, he would then say, "I think it wasn't the right song choice for her...etc. etc. Kesa nakalimutan daw niya na dapat may part dun sa song na si Jermaine ang kumakanta... or corny daw yung dating nung song... or whatever..."

Voting: Philip's Family&friends + WGWG fans + American Patriots(White Racists) ;D = Philip is an American Idol winner

Jessica's Family & friends + Biritan fans + some pinoys from the Philippines trying to pinch in some votes (not sure kung pumasok nga ;D) = 2nd placer

American white racists probably comprise an EXTREME minority of the votes. Most of them won't even watch a show where a LATINA and a BLACK MAN are among the judges.

LOL. This is so typical. Pag hindi nanalo, siguradong niluto ang results. :)

For me the judges did their best to "sway" the voters by giving a standing ovation to Philips' incredibly mediocre last song.

I dunno dude. Does a standing ovation really bring in votes? Joshua Ledet got the most number of standing O's this season but he still came in at number 3. On the week he was eliminated, he also got the most number of standing ovations from the judges.

JS: American sa papel lang ; 16 years old lang ; may starstruck factor ba?

PP (not papa P ha?  ;D): American by blood from Leesburg, Georgia ; may gitara  ::) ; may starstruck factor lalo pa at mas marami ang babaeng fans

With her powerful and soulful voice, no doubt malayo talaga ang mararating.

Well aside from the standing ovation they criticized Jessica's song and they praised Philips to high heavens. That for me is "conditioning" the audience's/voter's mindset.

Halos lahat ng mga Amerikano, regardless of their race, are American sa papel lang. White Americans are descended from European settlers from centuries ago. The only REAL Americans like by blood are the Native Americans (a.k.a. yun mga "Indians").

perhaps if she had looks like carrie underwood or kelly clarkson and can hit perfectly those big notes plus she resides in the southern states.

Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson won in years where there wasn't unlimited texting and Idol was still fairly popular across-the-board. Nowadays, Idol has slipped significantly in ratings. Their biggest demographic now are teenage girls and their moms and they tend to like the WGWG more than any other type. Philip Philips had already won once he took out that guitar and sang "Thriller" in his audition. I don't know how many times I have to re-iterate this. Look at the last four winners before Philip: David Cook, Kris Allen, Lee DeWyze, Scotty McCreery. What do they all have in common? Cute guys who played guitar!

Even if Jessica had been white, she still would have lost. Hell, if she had been white, I don't think she would've reached as far as she had. She had both a Latino and Filipino/Asian vote. If she had been white, she would not have such a concentrated support.

So please enough of this Jessica lost only because Americans are racist towards her. There are still racism in America, sure but this is not one of them. Let's not look like fools crying racism when there is none.

And if we're going to talk about "unfairness" and "dayaan", isn't the massive campaign for Pinoys here in the Philippines to vote on an American show using ways to go around the established voting system a blatant form of cheating?

You misunderstood me. I have never said that Jessica lost only because Americans are racist towards her! In fact, I've said, on a previous post, that it was obvious why Jessica lost and it was not due to racism.

You've reiterated that "cute guys who play guitar" would have the best chances of winning since AI's biggest demographic are teenage girls and their moms who tend to like the WGWG type. And you said that no singer who can hit perfectly big notes could defeat a cute boy playing a guitar unless the voting procedure is revamped. I simply stated that perhaps the odds of winning against the WGWG type would be better if the contestant had looks like Carrie Underwood or Kelly Clarkson, sings like Carrie Underwood or Kelly Clarkson and resides in the South like Carrie Underwood or Kelly Clarkson. These characteristics may even up the odds.

Both Steven Tyler & Jennifer Lopez have confirmed their departure from American Idol's next season.
