2803 is scheduled in the states at around may this year... di ko lang alam kung gaano katagal bago makarating dito.

1803 as the favorite...siguro dahil relatively mura...
kung maraming kayag bumili ng 2802/2803 e yun na yung binili ko, may preouts pa. :(

wala palang preouts and 1803. i though it did

Looks like they shortchanged the Asian version of the 1803 >:(

IMHO, the Asian versions are massed produced sacrificing the sound quality as compared the ones sold in the US.

One word of advise...don't be influenced by reviews.  The brand/model reviewed might not be the same as the ones you have.

^ doesn't the asian and us models come from the very same factory?

anyway... err how can you expect pre outs on an 'entry lvel' av receiver?

it's even a surprise that 2802 has pre outs..

ako nga eh 1602 lang yung afford ko eh ehehehe

toyks

about the denon avr na tinatanong mo, tignan mo muna dun brochure yung pic nya, then check mo sa internet, sa site ng denon, magkaiba ang model nya for japanese and other countries, yung 1602 na denon eh avc1550 ata dito sa japan, unlike yung yamaha almost the same model ang gamit same number magkaiba lang ng letters so mas madali matrace...

Something like Wharfedale made in England and Wharfedale made in China.  Compare the sound quality.

How about BOSE USA, Mexico and Japan.  They sound differently but with the same brand. :-\

Kenwood (US) VR-6070 THX compared with the Asian Kenwood KRF-9060D THX.  Lots of features are left out in the Asian version and they are both THX certified.

Remember the Galant controversy way back 1990's where the Asian release wasn't the real banana which won the Car of the Year Award?

Guess I'm out of the topic.....

Nirvblakr,

I tried to test the 1803 yesterday and Im very satisfied with the performance. Its warm ( not bright ) which is one of the reason I upgraded from Yammie to Denon. It has more features than you would expect from this level, unfortunately the multiroom was not available. Its 10T cheaper than the Harman 5500 which I was eyeing but Im also happy with the Denon. It has more than enough power for my B&W 602 and made my Velodyne sound better. I have nothing against Yammie, its a great brand but I just want  natural sound when watching movies. I dont want the tanks to sound like tin cans. Just my 2 cent

Levi,

do u think it has enough power to drive my wharfdale 8.3? since we all know that the wharfs is very hard to drive.

what i've read read is that since last year that the 3803 and up will be made in the japan factories while the 2803 models and below are supposed to be made na in korea or taiwan. doesn't exactly matter since its the same denon quality put into each unit wherever they are made. i dont believe thought that the US versions are superior to the Asian models. Papayag ba ang mga japanese consumers na inferior ang mga toys nila?

Congrats on your new toy!  As I have sent you, I had no gripes about the Denon's performance in theater and in multichannel listening.  Magaling talaga!  I just have to go to my audio set up for 2 channel audio listening though.   ;D

I think it can because it can drive my 86db Wharfedale Diamond 4 . To make sure you can bring your wharfedale to architectural audio and try if it will be a good match.

Nirv,

I agree with you, It is more on personal preferences. All of these branded receivers are good.

yeah.. you are right.

1603 is China
1803 is Korea
2802 is STILL Japan - till 2803 comes up. Tapos dunno na.

3803 and up is still Japan.

And i think they all come from the same factory eh.. depending on the models. I guess by moving the factory from Japan to china, they're able to give an extra amplified channel. and still keeping the same price as the older models (denon 1803).

I've heard the 1803 with the 8.4 and a mission m73 using spiderman dvd and no sub. I'm no audiophile so take my comments as just that.

Siyempre mas lamang sa bass ang wharf pero kung may sub ka, mukhang mas ok ng konti yung m73 sa ht. mas clear ang tunog sa mission. pero medyo malaki ang difference nila sa presyo.

wharfs are good enough for me. siguro dahil sawa na ako sa medyo matinis na tunog. My previous setup was a pioneer receiver with pioneer satellites. medyo masakit na sa tenga kapag matagal ka na nagpapatugtog. I now have a pair of 8.1s and so far no regrets! ;D

yung 8.4 and center pagiipunan ko pa...

Generally, it would have an improvement in the clarity of the Wharfes.  This is yet left to be auditioned though...

Hi courage!

I did not actually see the actual unit but the attendant I was talking with told me that they have 1803s.  Too many customers inside when I arrived so I did not have the chance to ask questions.  Actually my eyes were focused on the NAD T741 when I saw the 1603 model.
