Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance (2012)

1.5 out of 5

Sadly 2012 is heating up with a competition for the worst movie of the year. I mean seriously, Ghost Rider Spirit of Vengeance is one of them. I mean it is so generic for a Marvel film. The script is awful, the acting is lousy as hell.  Nicholas Cage is a cool actor I know he can have better roles rather than accompanied by this crapty production team. It's watchable in a sense that Ghost Rider is doing all those CGI fire blazing action sequences other than that it's worst. It's fun I guess if you're drunk.

Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows (2011)

3.5 out of 5

Am I excited for the sequel? Yes definitely. Did I enjoy it? Yes I do, with mixed emotions though. Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes sequel is much over the top than the first one. I really enjoyed the first half of it, it's being funny again. But then I thought they overused much of Sherlock's mind visionaries of zooming flashbacks from time to time. Though its more action packed than before, but I feel there's a lot of spectacles of camera angles and slow motions which conclude to a weird pacing.  Less slick neither less creative than the first one but still this is the Sherlock Holmes in a big time block buster that we expected. A better climax would be necessary as well.

Haywire (2012)

4.5 out of 5

Haywire is a bad ass. Soderbergh made a spy action thriller kinda "Bourne like" the other way around. It is dark, smart, silent and gripping which defines the whole scene. Amazing cast, Gina Carano is such a perfect fit with her charisma for this role and for her career thinking an MMA girl can lead roles in films like these. This is maybe the most bad ass of all slow paced action spy flicks. Sequel anyone?

Chocolate (2008)

Rating: 4 out of 5

A very well made Thai film with a humane story added with a very well choreograph martial arts stunts. If you combine an old Jackie Chan trademark and a compelling Asian drama, you got Chocolate. Some of the scenes are very predictable in a sense that you know how the plot is executed. It doesn't matter though, I'm having fun all the way with all those crazy fights and it satisfied me enough. Amazing stunts, and by the way Yanin is a bad ass.

Headhunters (2012)

Rating: 3 out of 5

A very well made thriller from Norway with a good execution overall. It has a slow paced first half then the suspense begins in the second half of the film. Chasing, and more gripping events until its climax. Though it felt that the whole story starts with just a simple problem that made the whole plot very complicated. I mean I was so disappointed at what happened in its climax. It is well executed but it fails with its storytelling. I laugh after that.

God Bless America (2012)

Rating: 3.5 out of 5

This film is crazy. It's not being funny but it's about sending a message. These people are sick and tired of the current trends of modern pop culture that they see on TV. And they become murderers giving a killing spree who are against their way. I don't know for what purpose is, or maybe a propaganda thing. But I think it is too harsh enough that somebody would not appreciate the way the film is executed. Hate or love this one, this is still an enjoyable film to watch especially if you hate reality shows that desperately. This is a breather.

MY UNDERWORLD VIEWING EXPERIENCE WITH RATINGS

Underworld (2003)

Rating: 2 out of 5

Ah, those were the days when generic Sci fi films became popular. Decent plot, laughable script, and ridiculous acting. The only thing that really caught my attention here is when Kate Beckinsale does these over the top action sequences and nothing more. What can you expect from these B grade films? Watch it when your drunk.

Underworld: Evolution (2006)

Rating: 2.5 out of 5

Wow I'm surprised, this was much better than the first one. Still you will expect a generic vampire flick but Wiseman did at least improved everything from the first. With all the dirty image of some bloody gore, sex and killing spree slashes. It's more fast paced than before. Other than that it is still generic as it could be. Better to be drunk to enjoy.

Underworld: The Rise of the Lycans (2009)

Rating: 3 out of 5

It is surprisingly good, not bad at all. I mean this is maybe the most sensible in the series yet. It's still generic as expected. But then the story line has the human touch of a vampire flick. Bloody slashes, and gore violence all over. For all the video game enthusiast who wants some vampire gore madness on midnights. This will definitely feed you. Enjoy with or without alcohol required.

Underworld Awakening (2012)

Rating: 2 out of 5

The whole time I'm watching it is like I'm thinking of Paul W.S Anderson all the time. I mean its Resident Evil meets Underworld in a B Grade production. The story is way out different from the series. It's the most generic of them all. It's stupidly made with the worst execution. CGI improvements here and there but I miss the gory hack n slash fights that leaves a trademark of the series. More like a filler on a TV series or something, it never really works. Easily forgettable.
