Hi all,

Maganda po ba ung Harman Kardon AVR 347? Im planning to buy it kasi eh. Papadala dito ung unit from states.

Tapos me DCDi at gaya ng sinabi mo 2 HDMI input at 1 output. Me naglabas dito niyan medyo mahal lang.

Peeps,

Am currently rebuilding my HT and just made the switch to HD. Recently sold my HK AVR2000 and am looking at getting another HK receiver with HDMI in/out connectors. My question is, would the AVR147 be able to drive a pair of Diamond 8.3's for the fronts/8.1's surrounds? My room is relatively small so I don't need anything loud :P

My main requirement is that I should be able to use HDMI connections from my DVD -> AVR -> LCD

Oh, how much is the going rate for the 147's? 245's?

Waah gastos!

Thanks,
Ian

I also have a relatively small room - a mere 12sqm. But used a 6 series HK & later a power amp. Its definitely not about loudness. The more you feed your speakers, the better dynamics you get.

And its been argued in the HD audio threads that you will may need a good well powered setup if you wanna bring out the new dynamics that the new HD formats have to offer. You might waste your upgrade money if you dont get a good AVR, maybe try to start w/ the HK 347.

Thanks for the input MatZER. I guess I'll have to go to my suking tindahan and check out the 347 -- haven't really included that as an option but I kinda agree with you on getting a better receiver to power my speakers - same principle I follow on car audio, the amplifier doesn't need to work hard to power all my speakers.

Just bought HK 3380 and Im contemplating between Mordaunt short carnivale, avant and wharfe 9.5.  I was about to buy the wharfe, but I find it muffled.  Anyone using HK and Ms combi here? how's the performance?

Thanks...

Guys what can you say about AVR-245? Tag priced as 35K, I did a quick chat with the sales guy and I had him lower down the price to 28K just for me. hehe.

Do you think I should grab it?

any updates on the batt replacement? I also have the same problem. I already opened the front panel but cannot find any batt.

finally, after several months of inconvenience having to do the setup everytime i turn on my h/k 5550, i had my avr memory problems addressed. i already brought my unit to beyond innovations to have it serviced. if anyone would like to have their unit repaired for the same problem, cost would probably be less than P2,500. service charge kasi is P1,500 then add the spare part na lang. i had the power supply repaired din kasi so i don't know the exact amount just for the memory repair, but it shouldn't be more than P2,500. workmanship seems ok too. di naman kumalat mga wires sa loob or kinulang ng turnilyo pagkabalik.

location is just behind eastwood. in fact, dun sa street nila ang tumbok eh yung entrance to eastwood sa likod. coming from ortigas take the turn on the street just after monark (and before eastwood). me makita kayo malaki building sa left, turn left din. then sa 2nd gate on your left also, pagtanong nyo na lang saan repair shop ng JBL.  ;)

tama. nung una, i was even a bit apprehensive pa coz of bad experiences with repair shops ng ilang members. so far, good rep pa ang beyond innovations for me. as of now, parang nasa honeymoon stage na naman kami nung AVR ko.  8)

Mga sir pano po patayin yun standby mode ng HK? Im using HK 3380.  Gusto ko kasi total shutdown pag-off ko, nakakabit kasi sya sa BADA line con with other components conneted at the same time (PC, TV, etc.)  Masama po ba pag matagal naka standby ang receiver?

Thanks
