bro ako I don't have problems with large 1080p files sa 31A ko. It plays planet earth and ironman and all other 1080p files without the intermittent stops. and problema ko lang talagas yung audio drop outs. but then, yung HDD ko is internal.

Just an update sa mga nakakaexpereince ng pag stutter ng videos pag 1080p. Richie and I were exchaning mails/texts regarding this problem, and he mentioned that they've already found the problem. Pag meron ng INTERNAL HDD si egreat mo, pag nagplay ka thru EXTERNALL HDD wala ng problema.

My concern before was, pano pag puno na yung internal HDD ko at meron pang mga new movies.

Im now fine with it.

I believe sir Streetsmart also has this problem, sir palagyan mo na ng internal HDD si Egreat 31B mo.

guys, need info. My last visit in this forum was March pa. Ask ko lang.....ilang firmware update na ba meron for 31b? Reading from page 17, may 2 updates na tama ba pagkaintindi ko?

Do I need to go through all updates or pwedeng dumerecho sa pinaka-latest na version at kasama na lahat ng previous firmware updates?

You can just upgrade the latest version to "fully" upgrade your unit. No need to go thru each one.

When kaya magkakaroon ng version ng NMT na resolved na lahat ang pointed out problems as mentioned in the various threads on NMTs. I have plans of getting one sana pero medyo kabado ako becuase i am not a techy guy and i would not know how to fix things just like many of you here.

Hindi naman kaya yung firmware upgrade ang one of possible causes ng playback troubles? I have no problem at all with the 31B running on a older firmware with HDDs connected externally through docks - no HDD inside the unit. Kahit VC-1 na 18Gb ang laki, kayang kayang i-play. Kahit yung 1080p file na nagpaluhod dati sa Pentium D 3.0Ghz ko (before I installed CoreAVC), smooth and synched sa 31B.

OT: try the tvix M6500 or M7000 - i replaced my pch with a tvix M6500 and got rid of all those troubles (stability, hang-ups, dts issues, dts downmix, support for trueHD, etc.) ... more expensive but worth the investment

the latest firmware 0125 resolved about 80%(not bad) of my stuttering & pixelization problems on movies encountered in both internal & external HDs . . . w/ resume playback pa.

DTS downmix na lang talaga . . .

as far as i know, only episode 1 & 2 of Season 1 are shot in HD. the rest of the season are in SD. you have more luck looking for dvd r*ps

For playback, halos parehas lang. Pero mas madali kung nmt...

Totally free weekend so yesterday pa ako shoot-out ng PC vs 31B. Here is the score so far.

Wala pa akong na-meet na sablay sa 31B (connected to a dock externally having WD Green HDD na puno ng 1080ps). There is one particular Police concert that mysteriously plays like 2x the speed on the PC but is normal on the 31B. The same file was reported to be playing well on a WDTV. Could be codec issue.

Parang mas "buo" ang sound through the 31B. Both the PC and the 31B are connected to the same amp on different channels. Mas nakakagulat yung biglang pagdagundong sa scenes ng Let The Right One In, and the bass seemed fuller on some concert shows. Or I probably need to tweak AC3Filter on the PC.

Ang sakit lang sa daliri mag browse through the titles sa 31B. I wanted to watch Valkyrie but I had no choice but to start from letter A and move down slowly through the list following the alphabet. And mas mahusay talaga subtitle control on the PC.

sir ang alam ko pwede po sa dulo ka kagad simula like if you want to watch valkyrie page up or up lang sa remote sa menu ng mga movies and sa movies na letter "Z" ang simula so you wont have to browse from a-z.

I am yet to get my new internal hdd from richie to solve the stuttering issues ng 1080p. Gusto ko sana umalos ttoday pero i heard traffic is horrible sa cubao, one lane lang ang passable.

Anchit Bro, your TV mode is set to 720p 60Hz HDMI (or Component) right? Edi dapat lalong walang problem because you are making the 31A output to a resolution that is lower than 1080p. Mas magaang for the 31A ang ganon setting. Mysterious ne.

I have not used the optical cable provided. Hindi lang manipis ang maiksi pa.

I used my old optical cable 5m long.

Optical cable = digital. Most of the time much better SQ using optical cable.

In theory, signal passing through fiber optic cable should not be susceptible to electrical or magnetic interference, so if the cable supplied with your Egreat produces sound without hiccups, then it's working as it should. Pero I didnt use the supplied cable because it is too short nga. Problem lang kung manipis yung cable, madali syang ma-bend or mapitpit which could cut the path/conduit for light. Also, make sure na maayos pagkakabit at both ends. Yun ang dapat mong ingatan sa fiber optic cable. Corollary, since maiksi yung supplied cable, mas less ang chance na mapitpit or ma-bend- kaya manipis is ok lang..hehehe

Pag mahal yung cable, di lang mas makapal yung insulation, mas maganda rin yung connectors at both ends. I dont think you'd get better SQ with that though. More reliable/resilient connection is more like it.
