i'll be relocating my set up to a smaller location,, and i'll be merging the two set ups.. it's gonna be a design nightmare for me...  how am i going to fit a pair of 9.6's a pair or 9.2's a center speaker and 2 12" subs in a room less than 12 sq.m.. :'( plus i just acquired 2 15" subs... suggestions will be very much appreciated.. thanks..

will be posting pix of the build/renovation as soon as i get started.. ;D

Congrats & Welcome to gallery.   ;D

it's really a nightmare to merge 2-worlds with their own separate components. If I'm in your situation, first I'll do an inventory of all my gears and list them in ranks or importance to the least which you'll be happy without them. about your subs, IMHO 1 sub is good enough fill-in your room.  :)

thanks for the advice sir.. i just cant give up the audio quality and sweet sound of my hi-fi system.. for me an AV receiver just cant match the quality of an integrated stereo amp. and a dvd player just cant match the sweetness of a dedicated CDP when it comes to pure audio applications.  I guess I just have to find a way to make the two set ups sound well together.. :)

about the subs.  I know one is enough.... but..... when it comes to this hobby, i guess enough isn't really enough ryt?! ;D and besides, i have those subs just lying around collecting dust,  i might as well put them into good use.. ;D im planning of putting some of them under the bed.. and if they prove to be a little too much, a storage room is waiting for them.. lol ;D

here are some pics as i tried to fit them all in the room. (a different room but with the same dimensions with the one i am renovating) a DIY LCD stand really helped to save some space... ;)  as for the avr, integ.amp, cdp and dvdp, they would be placed in an in-wall shelf which is still under construction.. ::) and the subs, the would be put on a sealed enclosure which is also still under construction, i just got a little exited and tried to use them without an enclosure.. :o

it's a strictly DIY project, and I don't have much time (more or less 8hours a week) to work on it so progress is really slow.. :'(

Good luck on this project Sir. The built-in cabinet in the picture, will this be area where you'll be putting the in-wall shelf? Looks like a good plan.  ;) I did place my HT and audio setup before in a room having dimensions of about 3m x 4m. It helped that I made a rack which would house all the amps, cdp, sources, center speaker and the tv. And since its customized, it created a lot more space for the speakers to be setup.

Keep us posted on the developments of your project.  ;D

thanks sir.. yes, that would be the one.. i'll be placing sliding racks so that i can access the rear panels of the amps and players.. my room is about the same size..  will keep you posted, something tells me this is going to be a long build... i still have to reinforce the walls and ceilings to minimize vibrations. and build acoustic panels to compensate for the small size of the room.. does any body know where i can purchase ""rockwool" locally? thanks..

I once stumbled on this contact in one of the topics here as I plan to make DIY acoustic treatments for my current room:
It is Philippine Insulation Co. As Streetsmart have mentioned.

tel# 8517135; 8531251
cel# 0915-5186150
look for Arnel Domingo

I have already ordered, gave me a 35% discount, these are the prices he gave me:
    Rockwool board    80kg 1.2m x .6m x 50mm = P243
    Rockwool Blanket 100kg 5m x .6m x 50mm = P1020

The brand is CSR from Thailand and in the ads it is non-carcinogenic. They also have fiberglass board and glasswool and others.
Location is in Paranaque beside Casino Filipino back of Skyfreight building.

Hope this helps.

Sir may suggestion lang po sana ako. mukha kseng maliit yung clearance nung pagitan nang mga shelves nang gears mo, my suggestion is at least 3-4 inches between upper and lower shelves para sa magandang air ventilation for your gears. kung gusto mo, pwede mo ring lagyan nang exhaust fan dun sa gilid nang cabinet kagaya nung sa thread ni sir Macdon. I hope you find these helpful  :)

thanks sir, I've thought of that too. I used to have at least 6inches of clearance between my gears, but i just don't have the luxury of space in this room. but I'll be mounting 4 120mm exhaust fans on top of the cabinet and 2 70mm fans for each level. i'll be running the fans on low RPM to minimize the noise. I guess these would be enough to dissipate the heat. if not, then i'll just add more fans.. ;D  thanks again..
