sir sali ako dyan! hehehe! ive been scouting (and saving) for a cdp. sana may mag-audition na para ma-sentensyahan na yan kung bang for the buck nga. wala bang shop malapit lapit dito sa makati na meron yan?

Ano yan may built-in modem (9.8k speed) Ahehehehe! Magastos sa ISP connection yan!!! 

naka-hookup sa ITunes pre.. para kahit anong lagay mong cd.. basta nasa database.. ilalagay nya pa yung album name....

pre, gusto ko lang yung CD-Text nya. and as a 2nd player for bedroom use pag may STC 8 watts nako. unahin muna natin yung Marantz na yan bago yung STC.

 

Pwede din sir... hehehehe btw meron na raw EL34 STC sa phasetron according to Andrew... OT na pala... meron type ko yun Marantz.....

Had tried Marantch CD 5400 sa Electronic Depot sa alabang, actually you can bring your AMP or speakers if you want to audition it. Only NHT and B & W are the available good speakers nila.
Sa akin ok  na CD player ito for the price baka nga if you will have a group buy makatawad pa....

checked the net for this player, it seems to be a good candidate since its in the 18k range, it has hdcd and class a operation for the output stage. and it uses a hefty power supply. pure ss but it may sound good

Yo're right Sir Jen, this because they are all OEM products, like the Shanling CD-S100 SS player this exactly the same with USHER & Expensive Music Hall MMF-25. I think they are not fly by night but an audiophile UNDERGROUND.

i had my initial impression before the cd player shootout on this thread, natabunan na sa haba ng replies about the shootout hehehe 

anyways, for the review, the cd player was fine for a 10.5k budget range.  i wasn't able to bring a demo cd so they used their own cd.  it was hooked-up to a NHT floorstanding speakers and marantz sr4400 (i think).  and i'm not familiar with that kind of set-up so baka naninibago ako.  for that price range, it did good for a cd player nothing more.  it is not comparable to the rotels (my point of referrence) but it is way out of league - siguro if it's a KI series or premium range of marantz, pwede makipag head-to-head with rotels, nads, arcams etc.  the only bad thing i see is the rca connectors at the back.  flimsy looking gold plated rca connectors.

again, for the 10k budget, it will do fine nothing more.  maybe if you do some tweaking, it will sound better.  it looks handsome (poging-pogi mukhang mamahalin) typical gold marantz equipment (made in china though) the track readout is good, cd-text capable.  i didn't see the remote.

secret!! hehehe loko lang kimpao.  i think i'd still go for nad 521bee hehe ayos ba kimps!  seriously now, the details are there but not quite, something's still missing.  maybe if it has an hdam feature of marantz, it will sound better.  reputable naman ang marantz when it comes to budget cd players.
