I fitted the KC7 in my Pioneer cdp.  (Yung isasali ko dapat dun sa cdp shootout.)  The most astonishing improvement was less digital glare.  If you would like to build one, you can download the diagram from this link:
http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?postid=199928#post199928
I mainly sourced my parts from Farnell and used pcb and metal film resistors from Radioshack and Alexan.  Will post the prices of individual components next time.

There is another worthwhile diy clock from Guido Tent but this requires a special crystal as compared to the KC& which uses the existing crystal from the cdp.

Lars Clausen of LCAudio also gave the diagrams to his Lclocks from this link:
http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?s=4fc0022106b4890b17fac01350958c58&threadid=24059&highlight=
But this is too complicated to build and also requires a special crystal.

Here are characteristics of op-amps as discussed by Dejan Vaselinovic of TNT-Audio.  Use it as a guide on choosing which op-amp you will use:
http://www.zero-distortion.com/downlaod/opamps.zip
And here is how to improve their performance by boosting their output currents:
http://www.zero-distortion.com/downlaod/boosting-jpg.zip

Happy tweaking!!!
(Parang Happy three kings! Hehehe)

Bruno thanks very much for the reply. As I plan to construct my own clock, may I ask you questions from time to time? Dejan's opamp paper is really educational. It was actually from this that I got interested in thh AD826 that he praises highly. Thorsten Loech however recommended LM6172 as first choice and I tried this but found the sound too shrill for my tasete though the highs are much cleaner than that of AD826. I settled with AD826 in the end.

thanks a lot to the tweaking tips. you guys are great. here in davao, price of surplus CD players from Japanese warehouses have dropped 50% down to P600 unit. this means, it's time to do weekend tweaks. kahit masira okay lang, ka presyo lang ng isang buffet lunch ang mawawala. but the satisfaction is greater even on initial failure.

punk_kid,

Just the usual tweaks pa lang naman.  Haven't tried making a non-oversampling dac yet.  Hirap maghanap ng TDA1541.
Still havn't found a schematic for your player yet.  It's better to have a plan before you star tweaking as I have experienced.  You might be upgrading components just to replace it later on.  Parang yung pagkabit ko ng Rubycon ZA's papalitan ko rin pala.  Mahal pa naman ng mga yun and they sounded awful.

garp,

Sure thing.  Will be glad to answer your queries.  Actually there is a new op-amp from Analog Devices that have garnered a lot of praises.  It's the AD8620.  It's a very promising opamp that will wapack any Burr Browns.  SMD nga lang.  And availability is quite difficult.

sandawa,

Baka makaiskor ka ng player na may TDA1541.  Kahuyin natin.  Hehehe.

as far as i know, all Sony ES series used DAC TDA1541. sige, sasabihan ko yung mga boy ng warehouses dito kahuyin yung mga junk units tapos ibenta sa atin kahit P100 each papayag yung mga yun. papadala ko na lang diyan sa yo at same price plus forwarding charge (mura lang yan). pero, baka hindi immediately. could take weeks or months.

Thanks again. One more question kung ok lang. In your experience what capacitors including the series name have you tried and can recommend? I've only tried mostly Panasonic kasi.

Thanks again. One more question kung ok lang. In your experience what capacitors including the series name have you tried and can recommend? I've only tried mostly Panasonic kasi.

Panasonic FC is a favorite among diy'ers because of their high ripple rejection and low impedance.  But the thing is they have magnetic steel leads (like Rubycon ZAs) as compared to the ofc used in audio grade caps.

For general use Elna Stargets are ok pero hanggang 1,000uF/16v lang available sa RS Components.  For digital decoupling, nothing beats Sanyo Os-con (Organic semi-conductor) yung SG series na pang audio.  Limited values na lang available sa Farnell because they are discontinued.  Pwede na din yung SP series.  Suitable for audio din it uses OFC.

Just remember na yung converter and dac chips have an analog ang digital supply.  So use the os-con for the digital supply and the starget (Black gate gamit ko dun sa analog supply ng dac) for the analog supply.  I also use BG for op-amp supply decoupling.  FK kung kasya pero kung hindi kahit Standard pwede na.

Some people remove the coupling cap after the op-amp.  Didn't do this as I believe that they are there for a purpose, to block any dc current from the op-amp.  Pwede Starget dito pero I use Elna Silmic (silk fibers in the dielectric) in my cdp.

Never use a low esr cap after a regulator.  Bypass your power supply diodes (ultra-fast, soft recovery diodes) and large value caps with ceramic caps (preferably yung X7R type).

Thanks. Will try OSCONS for the digital supply. Right now I have panasonic FC throughout except the coupling cap after the opamps which is elna SILMIC. All my power supply caps have been bypassed with 0.1uf Wima and the diodes with ceramics.
