O0 just got mine yesterday at astro festival mall around 4pm... the dvd was so cool, i watched it late last night... although i paid P1500 for it,  :'( its ok.
got no poster "ubos na raw", no cell strap, no raffle coupon, and said "what post cards?" Kung ano-ano raw naririnig nating "misinformation" from pinoydvd.com. (just overheard it from one of the salesladies)  :o
Buti na lang cool yung dvd.  8)

Misinformation ??? eh the free postcard is nakalagay doon sa poster nila eh sa front page ng pinoydvd. I'm almost sure na firewired or whoever posted it there got it from Astrovision or from somebody connected with the TROY dvd release.

The girls talaga in Festival are so sungit.  Ang medyo okay lang doon sometimes ay si Rose or the guy na isa that helps doon sa counter.  Sometimes tuloy parang i want to go all the way to Astro Southmall kasi the people there are SOOOO MUCH nicer than the ones in Festival.

Sorry ha but I hardly ever get irked off pero tagal na kasi complain yung mga sales people sa Astro Festival eh.  Stores are supposed to be customer oriented hindi yung madalas nakasimangot sila at ang su-sungit.  Layo lang kasi compared to festival yung southmall eh.  Haaaaay

The guard that used to be in Astro ATC is in festival now.  He said na nimfa is in Astro Sucat  pero tempo lang daw.  I'll try to text her and ask if you like.

Si Rose na assign yata siya sometimes sa Astro ATC eh.

Added/Modified :

Yikesss wala na pala yung number ni Nimfa sa cell ko. Sorry ... but ... if there's a will, there's a way  :)  hahanapin ko siya para sa iyo  ;D :)

Okay, just to clarify everything: we were not misinformed. The cellphone strap is very limited so they're trying to do something about that. The posters are behind the counter so just ask for a copy. And the postcards were delayed because of the printing. They'll be available starting tomorrow. If you already picked-up your copy of Troy, just bring your receipt and ask for the postcards. Here's a sample:

I called Astro;

They said cellphone strap is only for the regular edition, attached already with the regular dvd.

They still don't know anything about the postcard. But I requested them to reserve me a copy just in case may dumating bukas.

sana maalala nila ako kasi sa weekend ko pa kukunin.

just noticed the cover and back fo this version, the printout looks a little smudged.  are they sure it's made in taiwan or locally printed?  because warner titles from taiwan before has the same quality in terms of printout and dvd quality.  it mirrors the r1 except it's coded region 3.  after watching the dvds, i'll give this to a friend once i receive the r1 version hehe

he he he... this wouldn't be a problem... 'cept i don't have a copy of troy.  ::)

it's really easy ... once you've been "trained" sa site (don't worry, you'll only have to do this once... ever!)... all you need to do is add troy r1 to your collection... then edit the changes (region, languages, picture, isbn #, etc., etc,)... save the changes and just submit them... (it also helps if you have a dvd-rom in your pc)   :P

it takes a while to get approval... pero once nakapasok, you'll be addedd to the list of contributors... good luck.  ;D

Just got my 895 copy last tuesday and got to watch the DVD last night.  Excellent material.  No problem so far.  The faux leather packaging looked nice, but it was too large to fit in my DVD rack.  The Astro lady said it contains a booklet of photos.  At twice the price, nevermind.  ;D

This was my first time to see the film, as I didn't have the time to watch it at the theaters.  It has the epic sweep and brutality of Gladiator.  It even has the awesome spectacular fight scenes of ROTK.  The duel moves between Brad and Eric are unique.  But somehow, there was no emotional drain, nor involvement, that i experienced in the other spectacles mentioned above.  Maximus's final fight scenes and his death in Gladiator was a real edge of the seat experience and elicited a feeling of waste at the end.  Achilles and Hector's fight scenes were more acrobatic  but I didn't feel any emotional involvement whatsover.  Even when Hector died, I didn't feel sympathy for Suffron Burrows character.  No relief of a justified comeuppance.  Same when Achilles dies.  Nothing.  I think the death of Patroclus, Achilles' cousin was more sad than the others.   For all his obnoxiousness, Brian Cox's Agamemnon's death was not even satisfying.  Peter O' Toole gave the most convincing performance and yet his death didn't elicit any emotion from me either.  I must really be getting old.   ;D  Or numb at such spectacles. Or that the film really had no drama, only epic sweep.   But that's just me.

Just one other note of interest.  Orlando Bloom's Paris looks and sounds very familiar.  Kinda difficult suspending my earlier image of him as Legolas.  Most specially when he started taking up the bow and arrow in the end to smite the Greeks and finally Achilles.  Very Legolas.  ;D

All in all, the DVD tranfer, the colors and the sound are definitely up there.
