naku bago pa lang ako sa Mission  ;D maybe the more experienced Mission users will be in a better position to answer your query  ;) was eyeing to get the M5DS kaya lang nga out of stock na, ended up getting the M7DS pero ok din naman  ;) iba yung tunog na binibigay nung M52 during demanding scenes and yung M5c naman detailed yung voice which was missing in my old set-up

surprised din ako sa Yamaha 659 (powering the Missions - temporarily  ;D) kasi if it was my old set-up and I touch the AVR at that level of volume sigurado mararamdaman ko yung init ng amps not with the 659  ;D

ok na din yan, parang break in period. para pagdating nung Onkyo 705 you will enjoy more of the Mission. Lalo na if you play your Bluray together with the 705 (lossless Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD) sigurado wow  ;D

after a week of listening to my recently acquired v62s (bought from john martin) my thoughts are:

they are indeed laid back sounding speakers. not at all aggressive. (which is exactly what I wanted.)

best sounding when used with a tube amo. 13wpc will make it talk but 35-40wpc makes it sing to the heavens.

really didnt not like how it sounded when matched with my sony 835 avr. the m73i performed beautifully with that amp but
the v62's did not. I think I'll be hard pressed to find an AVR that can make the v62 sound just as good as when used with
either my dared or cayin.

christian,
the m73i's paired very well with my hkavr2000.  just needed a good distance with the walls so it'll give a good throw of the bass.  i placed 30kgs of sand on each of the FS thru the port at the back to make it more stable and man did it sound better.  thanks again.

hey jake... ok ah... gagawin ko din yan... la lang oras pa.

the m73i's work well with powerful avr's. and 25w and up tube amps. distance is my problem so I moved the HT to the room. medyo magulo pa lahat.

I think VOLARE's would best fit with those based from its specs. Plus the fact that most available units comes with the same color.  ;)

imho, no contest. the m71 will outclass the 9.1; though thats if they use the same source and amps. the 9.1's can be made to sound just as good. (some say even better) but you'd have to find the right equipment to pair it with. too much hard work just for a 5k worth bookshelf.
