Stands alam ko 2k to 3k a pair eh. As for B&W, don't know anything about the brand except that it's expensive. ;D

Ok na ako sa Infinity. :)

i've heard good things about b&w aside sa mahal sya, but usually it is being paired with a Denon, pero iba kasi dating pag naka "b&w" ka eh, lalo na sa mga walang alam sa tunog, sa brand lang. ;D

Personally it's still better that you hear how it sounds for yourself. ;D

I auditioned the Wharfedale Diamond 9s, specifically a 9.6 plus 9.CM combo, because of numerous good reviews here on PinoyDVD. But in the end, I didn't find the sound to my liking so I decided to audition the Primus line of Infinity. And there I found the sound that I was looking for.

Didn't go up a notch further to B&W, Monitor Audio, etc. because I wanted to limit my budget. There's no sense in auditioning more expensive brands if you don't have the money to burn on it dahil matatakam ka lang.

Another situation to look at would be expansion, in the future when you decide to get your center and surrounds, you'd more often than not be inclined to keep the same brand for all speakers, unless you're okay with mixing and matching. Ideally the front soundstage should come from the same brand and model line-up in order for timbre-matching to work.

its really a small salay, 35squares lang sya, mabibitin ba si yamaha for that area? ubos na yung 9.1 na nasa for sale section natin, if my memory serves me right, ke oreoshake yun. I saw some 8.3 at 4k and 8.4 at 6.5k daw sa FS section natin. malaki ba difference ng 9 series sa 8?  kasi parang ok na si 8.3 eh, tower pa.

35sq.m. (5mx7m)... malaki yun!...may ht room is only 16.25sq.m. (3.25mx5m) nabitin pako sa yammy 659 ko kya nag add pako ng power amp... w/out power amp ave. listening vol.level ko is btween -10-14db (depende sa dvd) so naisip ko na medyo "hirap" yung receiver (few more clicks sa vol control eh mag auto shut-off na sya) that's the time na nag add nako ng power amp! ngayon? sulit @ -25db vol level ayos na! hindi pa nagiinit receiver ko... better look for more "RMS power" sa receiver yammy man yan or onkyo/hk/denon/etc... in the end mas makaktaipid ka! ang of course maliligayahan ka!  ;D... opinyon ko lang po.

-10dB to -14dB is really loud. Personally I was never able to crank up my previous RX-V430 to even -25dB. I would guess it all depends upon your listening habits (and your speakers' nominal impedance and sensitivity also), you have a dedicated HT room so you can crank the sounds all the way up.

Baka ma-B.I. mo si anchit, dahan dahan lang. ;D

anyway, so far ok naman, hindi ko pa alam kalikutin si yammy. ipon ipon na lang muna for the center, rear at sub.=)

Thats an excellent match,  I have heard the Polkaudio TSI series, they have solid bass and crisp highs. I could not detect any flaws in the highs, mids or lows. I am sure that you must have gotten a good deal as the Polkaudio TSI series are quite affordable. These speakers must sound amazing with the Onkyo

Mga sirs,

We plan to put up a decent HT set-up (separates) that is good for audio and video and will fit the P60-80K budget.  It will be for my father-in-law's use and will be set up in the master's bedroom about 40-45sqm. in size.  Main use will be: listening to music and occasionally for watching movies.

We'll pair it with any of the ff. AV receivers:

- Onkyo
- Harman Kardon
- Denon
- Yamaha
- Pioneer

Need your expert inputs and advice mga sirs, as I'm really not that well-versed with these things... :)

What do you think is the best set up for this, guys? TIA  ;D

sir are you sure it is 40-45sqm na bedroom?that is a very big room  :o..to fill that room kelangan mo na ng extra amplifier  ;D

you will not go wrong in the receivers you listed..set na lang a budget for the receiver para ma bracket mo sila..then choose according the functions you will use..and after that pili na ng speakers that will match the receiver well..

with that budget..gandang HT na yan sir..goodluck

Hi!

Hope you can help me with my problem..i want to upgrade my Parents room..

Currently has:
32" Bravia LCD
Sony DAV-DZ150k [5.1] Dvd Player [Bundle sa TV]....No Optical for audio[x_x]

Will Buy:
WD TV Media Player

Question = Since walang Optical ung Sound System na bundle sa Bravia...ang choice ko na lang ba eh to listen to the LCD TV while watching HD Movies??

or is there an item which will let me utilize the 5.1 sound system that it came with?? [Medyo cheap lang sana]

Thanks!!

OR is there a very Cheap AV Receiver with Optical Input that i can add on to my parents room.

Thanks again!

I have a question. Is a straight setup better than a mixed setup? like for example, all Polk speakers compared to Polk floorstanders, Mission centers and rear/surround and Klipsch for subs?

well not always sir..

the most important thing to consider on a straight brand model setup is the fronts and center..rears pwede kahit iba..especially the sub..any brand of sub will do

hello mga kapatid,

just got ONKYO TX-SR607 receiver kanina. grabe parang nagkaroon ako ng bagong impression sa luma kong DTX bookshelf. gumanda ang tunog dahil sa onkyo hehehe, nagkaroon sya ng dimension na hindi ko na-experience using my old integrated amplifier. so now, since bago receiver ko, naks, the logical move is to eye for a set of speakers - fronts muna (bs or fs). ano po bang bagay na speakers for onkyo. low budget lang, 12-15k for brand new, < 10k pre-owned (best buy). i'm using it sa sala, mga 12sqm lang siguro yun.

salamat po. god bless!

Mga sirs. Meron na ako SARS. sobra talaga!  :o May plan ako mg build yung 1st dedicated HT sa condo namin. Sa research ko sa lahat nang threads, meron ako choices:

Floorstander & Center: Polk Audio tsi400 & cs20
Subwoofer: PB10nsd
Surrounds: JBL Balcony (Cinema Four)
Receiver: HK 160 AVR

Ok ba itong combo? May advice sa akin to invest in HK 2 or 3 series din instead of HK 160 AVR.

Meron advice mga sirs para sa newbie HT enthusiast. 95% movies - 5% music.

hello,
i humbly ask the gurus here at pinoydvd for help on setting up my first system,
this will be yet another recommend me at this budget kind of post so please bear with me.

im planning to setup my first system,
it will be for a small bedroom (3m x 3m)
at this point I'm willing to spend around
20k budget
for the AVR and a pair of speakers (+cables)
might stretch a little bit if i find something i really like.
source: NextBase DVD Player NB-658 (for now)
it will be used 70% for music and 30% for movies
In my opinion i listen to a wide range of music
from JAZZ to METAL and everything in between.
also, i like my music to be warm and not fatiguing, with as much detail as possible.
to put things in perspective, I've got a sennheiser px100 for portable use.
and to me, the sound is great, but still needs a little bit of treble.
It would also be a great help if i find something iPod compatible at my budget,
a nifty feature but not a necessity, as i can later on just add an ipod dock.

Also please recommend some shops that are accommodating to NEWBIES like me.
as I am still a little anxious at entering HT Shops that sell very expensive equipment.

Thank you so much for future replies and I am looking forward to reading your recommendations.

3m x 3m is really small.

A AVR setup would be impractical given that you still need to fit a bed in there.

Given those constraints, I would go for a HTIB with satellites you can mount on walls freeing up the floor as much as possible for other creature comforts and still be able to actually walk around the room and not clamber over a bed to reach the other side.

A soundbar would also be a good idea pero the prices here are still ridiculous IMHO.

I'd take a look at some of the good deals here for LG/Samsung HTIBs. You can audition them sa malls and showrooms (bring your ipod to test your content) and source them here.

Even though I have a full HT setup, I'd like to get a HTIB for my small bedroom as well but I am waiting for models that have bluray drives in them and be reasonably priced.

You can also consider a PS3 with a 2.1 speaker system as well. You can dump your content in it. Have a reasonably future proof setup and have a snazzy media center/game console in a single unit.
