Thanks lmerb. Will give it a try. I saw an autohotkey version that does the remapping. Is this script similar to what you worked out with eventghost?

Code: [Select]
;Autohotkey script "Set standby button to ALT+F4"
;=================================================================================

OnMessage(0x218, "WM_POWERBROADCAST")

WM_POWERBROADCAST(wParam, lParam)
{
   If wParam=0
   {
      Send, !{F4}
      Return  0x424D5144
   }
   Else Return
}

^ @yygoob

If it's a serves you well as a point of comparison, I'm using a netbook with HDMI output as an HTPC (ASUS Eee PC, nvidia ion graphics card, intel atom N450, 2gb ram, 250gb hdd). This unit only consumes around 15 to 24wh.

I suggest getting an A6 or an A8 based HTPC if you're after simplicity, low power consumption and good PQ. These APUs have enough muscle to handle the far majority of current video formats plus post-processing.

Lower power APUs can still do the job (and would save some more power in the process), but they barely have headroom for background tasks or postprocessing.

Galing nung ITX build! Napagkasya niyo pati yung HDDs. Low noise na at maliit pa. SSD na lang, noiseless na. ;)

Kayo po gumawa nung acrylic?

sir stagea.. yes... custom made po yung... acrylic.. using 1/4" thick acrylic... was wishing nga sana na mas tight sana ang bends.. kayalang wala ako acrylic bender.. i just used heatgun.. kaya medyo wide ang bends.. hehe

sir yygoob..
bought it sa us po... imho... mas matipid lang yan ng konti kesa sa i3-2100... if i were to buy again (now).. i would have gotten the G620 (better value for money... wala pa yan nung bumili ako eh).. and i think it will do the job well naman

btw... im not sure if kaya ng G620 ng 3D but check niyo din po...
G620 (ofcourse i3-2100 would perform better but... overkill)
+h61 or h67 mobos (i think i have seen H61s at around 2400php @matx form factor... )

if your wondering why iba binuo ko and iba sinusuggest ko.. its just because wala pang H61 noon..

regarding magpagawa... hehe i think you can do it yourself.. im a novice in diy...
it not that hard to make.. just takes a lot of time.. specially in preparation of your materials...
ang pinaka masarap.. after niyo mabuo is... yung satisfaction na may nagawa kayo with your bare hands:D

1)buy acrylic... i think nasa 600 pesos worth yan... but may allowance... so tinabi ko nalang iba..
2)count screws/lockwashers/nuts yan.. siguro 20-30 pesos lang lahat..

Nice. :) Yes, the G620 can handle 3D as well.

The spaghetti cables remind me of my desktops. :P Kung neat-freak ka, try mo to bundle them together then wrap with braided sleeving. It's a nice conversation piece kasi, lalo na at see through siya. :)

Ganda din nung build ng friend mo, sir AC. :) Parang heatsink pala nung HDDs yung isang side. Yung aluminum side sa kabila pwedeng gamitin yun as passive radiator by bolting-on water blocks or heatpipes. ;)

Ang tagal lumabas ng Trinity APU. Balak ko din gamitin for a low power build. Kung sakali, baka Ivy Bridge na lang.

actually hard disk coolers po yang ginamit niya sa sides... now he has 3x 2tb on it.. hehe
http://www.pinoydvd.com/index.php/topic,142360.0.html

ito po yan actually..
balak po talaga namin is may heatpipe from papunta sa sides.. tapos use the hard disk coolers as heat radiators.. kayalang ang hirap po.. kaya we decided to use cpu coolers nalang..
kahit yun akin ganun din po talaga plano ko.. kayalang ang hirap po to work with aluminum.. matigas... kaya decided.. plastic nalang po..

btw.. ano po ang trinity apu? upcoming model yan ng amd?

I see. Akala ko Aluminum heatsinks na cut to size para maging sides ng casing.

Yes, supposedly eh successor yan ng current Llano APUs. I'm fine with building an HTPC around an A8 (Llano). Pero baka lumabas na din yung Trinity, and that should be better.

Ivy Bridge was rumored to launch in January (since PC makers have been demoing products with it since mid this year), but it was pushed back to what seems to be an April 2012 release. Trinity is supposed to launch in March 2012.

The current crop of Sandy Bridge and Llano chips are more than capable of delivering great HTPC performance. Ivy Bridge and Trinity will likely provide incremental improvements in terms of features, performance and power consumption, if you are willing to wait.

Maraming efficient PSUs. It doesn't have to be in a small format. Generally, most PC PSUs operate most efficiently between 50% to 75% of max capacity. Selecting a PSU that would stay within or close to this zone for most of your tasks, without exceeding the PSU's capacity during peak loads is the most power-efficient way to build a rig. Choosing an 80 Plus certified power supply can also help.

Nelson's uATX Sandy Bridge desktop with 2 HDDs, a modem and a BD drive consumed less than 30w during movie playback when I was testing it, if I remember right. Idle is around 20w. That's pretty close to a notebook's power consumption. This is made from affordable off the shelf parts.

you guys think this is a problem with my Cable?

I use a fiber optic cable, yung mura lang, and use Cyberlink PDVD for playback.

thanks.

Try a different cable muna or at least ensure na seated properly siya. Pag nasubok mo na and ganun pa din, baka clocking or syncing issue. Pwede din buffer underrun. Yung spdif out mo, does it interface via usb, via pci/pci-e, or integrated sa mainboard?

Does it happen sa start lang ng movie, or throughout the movie nangyayari?

All throughout, pero depende, minsan sa isang movie hindi nangyayari. parang moody ba.
