Do you mean kung dedicated GPU ang gagamitin?

Current Intel (HD Graphics models) and AMD (Fusion models) APUs are essentially CPU + GMCH in one. The IGP is part of the GMCH.

Im currently using HD 4850. Dts and dolby lang.

Yes, it'd more than do the job. If you're yet to buy, consider getting newer models (Geforce 600 series or Radeon HD 7000 series).

it's okay if you also plan to use your htpc as a gaming rig. be warned though, your power consumption will be a bit high.

Consider the GTX 660 or the HD 7870 for the performance and image quality improvement, if they fit your budget. If not, the GTX 560 should serve your needs just fine.

Both the GTX 660 and HD 7870 deliver GTX 570 (and often better) performance with significantly improved power consumption/thermals.

The HD 7870 2GB costs as little as 8k nowadays.

@all

kaya ba ang AMD E-350 mag-play ng 3D content? (blu-ray, download, etc) I'm thinking of using my Manli T2 nettop (AMD E-350, 4GB DDR3, 500GB) as a media player.

No. It's technically possible to make it output in 3D, but it lacks the performance to handle 3D playback of most formats.

you're right: http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/cpu/display/amd-e-350_11.html  AMD Brazos can handle most formats EXCEPT for 3D. :(  oh well, I guess I really have to build a new htpc for 3D playback.

Load nasa 40 and idle nasa 35. Note that this is the 65W model not the 100W. I believe the issue is within the 100W as they are OC version.

Some issue with powerdvd and TMT they are now cinavia certified. I will try corel windvd as this is the second bluray player on the top 1st-DVD, 2nd-Windvd 3rd-TMT and 4th-DVDFab Media Player.

mobo: MSI 880 GMA-E45
proc: AMD X6 1090T 3.2ghz
RAM: TeamElite DDR3 1333mhz
Graphics: Sapphire 6850 1GB DDR5
audio: built-in sound card
Power supply: HEC Cougar CMX 750W
Speakers: Logitech X-530

Ano po mga limitations sa ganitong setup in terms of viewing and listening experience? Ano pa po pwede ko gawin para ma maximize ko ung capability ng PC ko ngayon(in terms of audio/video)?

Thanks po!

That's good enough for HTPC use. :) Consider getting a BD drive if you'd like to play Bluray discs.

Thanks sir, I'll look into that option. The sound quality will mainly depend on the type of file I'm going to play, am I correct?

Your audio equipment, your room, and how they work together will be an even bigger factor.

I like the anti surge feature of asus mobo that i sue once your HTPC has been shutdown with power blackout or power interruption anti surge prompt will activate and you will see the message when you boot up.

May be worth considering for a serious gamer - six 24-inch LED monitors.  :)  They are called "wrap around" monitor set-up. I think 6 monitors is the most you can have for an Eyefinity graphics card.  Each monitor gives a max of 1920 x 1080 resolution.  That means you can have a total of 5760 x 3240 resolution.  Your PC sees the 6 monitors as one.

Or something a bit more modest

But no matter how large your PJ, you're still confined to 1920 x 1200/1080 resolution or slightly more, right?

I think 3 monitors would be just fine.

Mura lang bulb. Less than 10k. Kahit maka sampo ka pa, mas mura pa sa bumili ng 60in tv.

We are on a HTPC thread not a gaming thread av_phile1 said its for serious gamer im just a casual gamer kaya oks na sa akin ang PJ with 110 screen.  >:D >:D

Isa pa gaano kalakas sa kuryente yung 6 na monitor + price of the crossfire video card to accomodate the 6 monitor. You need a high end video card to run such eye infinity settings for max video playing. Sama mo pa ang gaming PC setup alam ko hindi lang basta basta PC setup ang need mo for the eye infinity.  ;) ;) ;)

My setup HTPC and all-rounder PC ... not much into gaming, so mainly movies, torrent rig, data storage, and Internet ... it's just connected to a 24-inch Samsung LED monitor and a pair of Bose Companion2 speakers - planning to improve the audio part this year, i've read about Soundblaster X-Fi Titanium HD which recommends to connect to a stereo Home Studio speakers (this is the part i'm not familiar with, when I research the web it points me to studio monitors and nearfield speakers which brands are not so common to me - what is recommended to connect a pair of standard BS speakers to the Soundblaster X-Fi Titanium HD, i'm just looking at a small device not a full blown AVR)

- Intel Core i7 3770k
- Asus Maximus V Formula (ROG Mobo)
- G.Skill 8GB DDR3 1600
- Corsair H60 (closed-loop liquid cooling)
- Palit GTX 650Ti GPU
- G.Skill 115GB SSD / Toshiba 1TB 2.5" HDD / Seagate 3TB HDD x2
- KWorld U405 TV Tuner
- Corsair HX620 PSU
- Corsair Carbide 500R Casing (Special White Edition)
