can you confirm if this (toshiba av500 series) accepts 1080p signal from Bluray, like what you did for samsung 400 series?

I believe both brands states 720p and 1080i only in their specs.

Just now we run the test using bluray player upscale at 1080p on this Toshiba 32av500. The result: this TV is able to deliver picture. This made us to confirm that 32av500 accepts 1080p.

Toshiba was one my top pick when I was scouting for LCDs because of performance. For heavy PC gamers and for those who plan to use it as monitor, this is a good choice. I have a friend who owns an AV500, believe me you will be impressed.

The local Toshiba has not released yet the RV series. Nevertheless, we shall have the CV series of 32" and 37" next week. Prices will be announced.

Toshiba does not have home-theater-in-a-box (htib) for promo. Toshiba used to come out with htibs, but they had stopped manufacturing them since 2 years ago.

Instead of combining Toshiba TV with its own brand of htib, we offer for a purchase Toshiba TV, a buyer can avail of add P9,990. for a Samsung HTZ210 htib.

Hi sir Vic!  I'm new here in pinoyDVD.  I'm in the market for a 32" and 37" LCD.   I was in your store with my dad the other day and we were contemplating which brand to buy.  We actually almost decided to get a panasonic 32lx77(for me) and the 37lx50(for my dad) but decided to research first on it.

Allow me to share to you where we will be using the units:

1) 32" for myself will be put in my room and will be an all around display for TV, DVD viewing and most importantly PC/MAC use.  So PC input is important for me as well as the clarity of the text it produces.

2) 37" for my dad will mainly be used for TV, HD DVD viewing.

I am actually glad that I researched on this and found this site.   So now, I am actually inclined in getting a TOSHIBA for my use....as for my dad's....maybe sir you can recommend.   Maybe still a Panasonic?

Can you kindly PM me your price for the 32" and 37" Toshiba and Panasonic?

On this thread, you will see a member Gospike made a comparison with Samsung, Panasonic, Sony, and Toshiba. The result, Toshiba reveals better PC text than other TVs. If you are into PC use, You should go Toshiba 32AV500. However, for TV and DVD viewing, any 32" LCD will present the right picture.

For your dad, please find email of our recommendation.

You might want to inquire their 37" LCDs.  When I bought my LCD at Sights and Sounds, plano ko 32" lang.. pero when Sir Vic offered the 37" with a price that is hard to refuse, Toshiba 37" ang binili ko :-).
