Sir, custom made tweeters ba yung nasa ibabaw ng B&Ws mo? Anong brand sir? Gusto ko din sana maglagay ng ganun para sa fronts ko eh.

Thanks.

Hello fellow enthusiasts,

I'd like to solicit some suggestions for a multi-purpose room that would be in my future 4th floor. The available space would be 4m width x 8m length, with consistent 8feet of headroom. Beyond the 4m width, the roof will start to taper off.

What i want: home theater using 5.1 at least, or kung hanggang ilan ang puwede sa available space
What my wife wants: storage space for comforters, drapes, seldom used clothing, at kung ano2 pang basura ng mga babae
What we both want: guest room for visiting friends or relatives from afar, or second family room

Here's what i initially have in mind:

Ganda naman ng guest room nyo. :)

I like the layout. Pwedeng pwede ka mag 7.1 diyan, wallmount mo na lang sa backwall or above the cabinets in the diagram. :)

I don't know if I have the right idea of the space, but would it be doable to utilize the sides where the ceiling height drops below 8'? I'm sure those spaces would be quite sizeable, and might be great for cabinets and cubby holes. :)

Thanks Sir Stagea, pero hopefully, di ganung kadalas magiging guestroom yan, hehehehe...

Actually, i never thought about putting the front and rear speakers all the way to the ends, wall mounted at that. Aside from freeing up more space, the speakers will be safer from curious kids' hands - a double whammy! Ok pa rin kaya SQ nya considering aimed downwards ang lahat ng speakers?

Doable to utilize the other parts, kaya lang may un-plastered concrete wall or walls, but i will definitely consider this  ;D

You're welcome Sir Dindop. :)

I was just referring to the surround back channels sir, in case you want to build a 7.1 setup. You can also wall mount the surround L/R channels on the side walls (so bale 4 speaks naka wall mount... surround Left, surround back left, surround back right, and surround right). At least that would put the surround speakers out of the way of kids para pag pupunta sila sa seats hindi nila tatamaan yung surround speaks. Di naman ganun ka-critical yung SQ nung surrounds for me, and the reflections from the nearby surfaces may actually help diffuse the sound.

However, I think it's best to keep the front L/C/R speakers at around screen height and far from the walls to plant sonic images properly. Ano gagamitin mo dito sir? 800 series din? Ganda ng HT speaks mo. :)

Saw this one at audiogon, not sure if it's a good deal or not, i reckon the landed cost would be circa 53k.
http://www.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?homeproc&1295470305&/Onkyo-PR-SC886

- not sure if it can be rewired to 230V, am not a big fan of step-downs and AVR's
- will it wallop the rsp1098? Am curious about audyssey  ;)
- not sure if it's a good match with rotel amps

my opinion only and not an experts view po

when we talk of processing, this is capable of doing DTS MA only and not Audyssey DSX. DTS MA is present to most receivers nowadays. Audyssey calibration i think would be more benificial in an enclosed environment more than an open type setting like a living room( my belief only). Audyssey DSX allows you to add front wide speakers and according to Audyssey folks, is the best enhancement compared to surround back or front height speakers.

the greatest thing about this PRE though is the upscaler, HQV REON. Onkyo fanatics have professed this is the best upscaler they have seen not to mention the ISF feature that comes with it.HQV REON is way way better than the Faroudjia, which my receiver has.

ET414 has one of the best HT set up and I believe he usues the same rotel you have with an Onkyo receiver too.

Hmmmmm...with your room configuration, I believe that you can tapering (ceiling) side for the gears and front speakers.  The tapered side will prevent the ceiling sound reflections from reaching the sitting positions (tama ba?).   How low is the tapered side of the room?  The reason is that the level side will be good for the listening/gathering area.
