guys, anybody using the SR4600? heard them with MS carnivals and they sound pretty good. Sulit na kaya ito for 39,500? medyo nabibigatan ako sa price ng MS eh. how much would a wharfedale set (5.1)cost?

i think i saw a 4500 or 7500 sa 5th ave in shang edsa, where have you tried looking? i dont know if its scarce in the market because of its unpopularity or owners dont want to part with them, i myself have been lucky enough not to have any problem with my 7400 after more than 18months.  i hope you find your marantz.

thanks dB10. haven't gone around that much. inuuna ko muna second hand market  ;)

marantz owners, your opinions please... marantz/wharfedale diamond 9 or marantz/mordaunt short carnivals? i know, maraming factors yan (power ng amp, the room, your ears, your preferences...). Just the same, want to hear your experience or input. thanks!

i have demo'ed the marantz with the MS and other speakers at 5th Ave. it was the best in their shop to combine with the marantz.

are you looking for bookshelf or floor standers?

tried the marantz/ms na din and the combo sounded okay...yun nga lang, haven't tried the marantz/wharfedale combo. floorstanders look pretty good pero kahit BS, as long as agreeable sa akin ang sound (and the price  ;) )

auditioned Marantz and MS speakers late this afternoon over at 5th AVenue in Park Square.  The setup was using a MS floorstanders.  The sound was great as details were heard very well during the movie.  Sub used was Carnival 9 i think.  Sa boom sounded great also.

Even when they used the MS Carnival series 5.1 setup, the sound got lower but the details is still there.

Also saw the SR 4001 priced at P29,500 at 0% int for 12 months.  Is this a good buy already?  7.1 setup, 80 watts per channel with HDMI.  Is this also good for the MS Carnival Series speakers?

thanks.

hi morpheous.

i previously have a marantz/gale combo, and the time i have them... wala naman akong reklamo except i really need the sub since what i have then is the 2-way floorstander only. the 3-way had better bass but then me konting sabit sa bass-mid integration.

now, what they are pairing with the marantz is the carnival series of mordaunt-short, with a 3-way floorstander as fronts. these are basically the gales in ms clothing (or vice versa). even the dimensions are the same. for the money paid, these are value for money especially if you have a small ht area only.

this is a marantz thread... but have you tried their cambridge audio azur 540R v2 AVR? maybe you can do a side by side comparison if you're serious in either the marantz or the mordaunts and post it here for everybody's benefit.

i agree with you that it sounds great great.  fact is i am already referring this receiver to my friends who are starting/upgrading their home theater.  it is the most affordable receiver with ex and es, digital ins and outs and 6-channel preouts.  the construction of this hardware reminds of onkyo, sturdy and masculine.  To me it is more like a tank.  The sound quality of the 4300 rivals the sound of harman kardon 2550.  its predecessor, 4200, has been appraised by many because of its sweet sound. i think the 4300 is almost the same with 4200 except that it has more features.  highly recommended to the future-conscious people who are afraid of obsolescence.  with this receiver being at the heart of your set-up, you can't go wrong with it.

New Old Stock Clearance Marantz Receivers
« Reply #1035 on: Dec 19, 2007 at 08:40 AM »
5th Avenue in SM North and Trinoma are clearing stocks of their old models at bargain prices.  I picked up an SR5500 at a good price yesterday.  Running it in now with Monitor Audio Bronze 2 - awesome sound!  Very musical and easy on the ears.  Love it!

For those not needing the "latest and the greatest" in features, this is a good opportunity to go bargain hunting!

hello lakambini,

5th Ave SM City had the SR4600 at P19,995 if I remember correctly. Can't be sure but they may have the 4500 on sale there too.  5th Ave Trinoma had the sr5600 listed at P25,500 and the SR5500 at P19,500.  All were new units complete in sealed boxes, not demo/showroom units.

hope this helps.

Sale anyone? ;D

Marantz SR3001 - 7.1 amplifier On Sale!!!!Php17,000 cash purchase only.

available in Platinum
All discrete amplifier stages
32 bit DSP, HDCD decoder
Dolby Digital EX and Pro Logic IIx, dts ES, Neo:6, 96/24, SRS Circle Surround
192 kHz/24-bit D/A converters for all channels
Component video switching (2 in / 1 out)

A 32-bit Cirrus Logic microprocessor provides full surround decoding capability for Dolby Digital EX and Pro Logic IIx, dts ES (discrete and matrix), Neo:6, and 96/24. There’s even SRS’s remarkable Circle Surround (and SRS Headphone as well) so you’ll be able to enjoy all your favorite discs and broadcasts just as their creators intended. The SR3001 also offers Multi-channel Stereo so you can enjoy all of the music throughout your home.

You needn’t worry about hookup flexibility either. The SR3001 boasts 7 analog stereo inputs and a full 7.1 channel input for today’s most modern sources. In addition, there are four assignable digital inputs (two coaxial and two optical) so the SR3001 can handle even comprehensive systems with ease. You’ll also find digital outputs and a subwoofer preamp out.

On the video side, the SR3001 is equally capable. Eight video inputs (two component, two S-, and four composite) mean you’ll be able to connect all your video sources for instant enjoyment. Video outputs? We have you covered there, too, with three recording paths and three monitor outputs (component, S-, and composite) so you won’t miss anything.

You might think a receiver this capable would be difficult to set up and operate. Not so. The Marantz Easy Setup menu and front panel cursor keys take you through your options with remarkable clarity. There’s a sleep timer, video off mode, and three AC convenience outlets. Don’t forget the remote controller or the 50 preset AM/FM tuner either.

This is my beloved Marantz SR6001. In my experience, this is one if not the best receiver i have owned. Sa mga nag-iisip mag-upgrade ngayong pasko... It's a must that you should audition this brand.
