Depende sa source niyo. Full HD is best enjoy in screens bigger than 50 inches watched at a normal distant. Anything less HD, lower screen sizes would do. :D Plasma pa rin is better for bigger screens.

Thank you for the FYI but I want to buy a 46-inch or bigger TV. I have a 46-Samsung bought last year and a 40-inch a year before that and a year before that a 32-incher.

I am well informed about the technologies. I just need to know what's available off the shelf and how much. :)

Why not go for plasma TV. With the new plasma that is now not susceptible to burn-in and image retention, plasma TV has more positive performance than the LCD or LED.

These are what you get for plasma TV:
1. highest contrast which translates to deeper black color. The new plasma has 2 million contrast.
2. more color--plasma delivers about a billion number color
3. wider viewing angle--you can watch movie practically on any angle without losing picture quality.
4. fastest motion response. No picture blur even on fast moving picture.

Check out different plasma TVs available for audition at Sights and Sounds 4th level ShangriLa Plaza.

The new plasma has no burn-in issue. It is, therefore, perfect for all rounder purpose: gaming, movie or TV cable watching.  :D

Would plasma have an equivalent? Do you have something like a 52, 58 or 65 plasma?

Response time is an important spec for LCD.  But for plasma, response time is so fast (less than 1ms) that it's always been a non-issue.

Response times are almost never stated in plasma specs because response times are irrelevant in plasma technology.

How about power consumption? Still relevant imo.

Yes, very relevant.

Generally, LCD still consumes less power: http://reviews.cnet.com/green-tech/tv-consumption-chart/?tag=contentBody;nextPage

Hello,

The 65PY850 is the more recent one. I'm also in the market for a larger T.V and I'm currently looking at the PY850, along with the Panasonic 54G10 (U.S Version).

Happy hunting.

If your budget is 200k, only the Full HD 50-inchers plasmas are within your reach. They cost around 140k nowadays. There is 54" at SnS, but this is 110v US model and grey market.

Haha... looks like until now, you still haven't asked for the price.  hehe.  To Mr. E-reply, you've already posted the 50g10.  How much is the 54 inch model and the 65 incher?  PM na lang since I don't think sir Carlo wants to know just yet.

Hehe.

No longer a significant issue with the 2009 Neo PDP Panasonics.  Still higher in actual numbers relative to similarly sized LCD, but certainly not to the level that will up your electric bill to the roof.  You might not even notice any change in the monthly bill.

AFAIK, 2009 models are available up to 54V at the moment.

If you want the 65V, I've only seen the 2008 (PZ800/PY850) yet - hence not Neo PDP.

For your budget at P200K, you may want the new 54G10 at P145K. We have last unit. Two units came last Wednesday, but a unit was sold yesterday. Call us up if you wish to have it reserved. :D

Sent you pm of other big TV prices.  :)

Panasonic 50G10 is a TV from US, that's why it's 110volt. Yes, this TV is covered with a year in-house warranty. It comes with table-top pedestal.  :D
