Sorry I only have full length version of 1 or 2 10-bit mkvs but none of them is working on a PCH (sound is ok but no video at all).  Sa PC ay ok pero I dont like playback via PC anymore - hehehe.  Tapos a very renowned encoding group intends to release a 1080p 48fps encode ng Hobbit at 23GB (30GB if with DTS-HDMA7.1).  Kaso, 10-bit naman because he wants it to be "special" daw (special as in only a few can play - hehehe).  Anyway, hopefully, the new Realteks can play 10-bit encodes.

R6S/R300 - audio ok and video plays but obviously wrong codec since expected color depth of the file appears as greened pixels left on screen during render. imagine parang may trace of the frame by frame difference with tinge of light green around it.

S100/S900 - audio plays but no display at all (sigma 8643 just like PCH)

Was that the 48FPS 10-bit 1080p release that is about 26GB?

The PCH-A200 cant produce video of the above encode but the 48FPS 8-bit 720p plays perfectly OK with very strong and natural looking SOE even on a Plasma.

i have the r6s already and i want to try a different brand for my other room.  which models/brands should i consider? my budget is limited to 6K-7K only...hehehe

If you have a BDMV folder:
a.  in Settings enable Always ask for BD Menu Navigation
b.  go to BDMV folder of the movie you like, and select [OK] in remote
c. it should ask Play BD Menu , select yes.
you should see it at this point.

what FW version (or date) plays the bd menu? my R6S had a Nov 2012 FW before but it did not work with nav. hence, i updated to Mar 2013 FW (the one you gave me) but still does not play with nav.

can i downgrade the FW back to whatever FW it works?

Was on Nov 2012 FW, i notice it will not play BDMV unless you focus on the BDMV folder, not play at the title folder. R6S and R300 share the same firmware version, but i do use R300 and assume it will work with R6S. I'll try a BDMV this weekend directly on an R6S and update you folks.

Observe that if you play BD Menu at hte title folder level, it will just traverse the full tree to look for the BMDV folder that it will never find.

I've done that all but wala parin. Mine hangs as well when I attempt to play movies with menu

OT pero sige : USB 2.0 is slow, pero super-OA ang 4 hours for a 4GB file baka 500 RPM lang yung disk bwahahah. sa HTPC nya ginawa o laptop ano? Nabuhay ka ah! 

Seriously, if you see 4GB will go for 4 hours, 1GB per hour, eh meron namang cancel button

yes, just set Lipsync to auto in your AV receiver.
