went back to JB HiFi, ito ang stress reliever ko, tingin tingin, nagpapasabik lang. The 65VT60 already had a price cut of 500aud, from 4990, now its 4490.

here they are sorry for the crappy pictures:

Panasonic VT60, 4,490 less 15% pa, so approx. 3.8k

Samsung 64F8500 3,450 less 15%

Samsung 60F8500 2.9k less 15 , approx. 2.5k

Panasonic ST60: 2.k less 15%, approx. 1.8k

parang nagagandahan ako sa F8500 over VT60. Price wise napaka competitive nya, with a price difference of at least 1k, and sa mga demo material na nakita ko mas stunning ang dating nya kesa sa VT60.

I also saw this Sony Ultra HD TV, 55" pa lang 6k na. it also has a 60" brother na nasa 8kdollars.

based sa demo material nila kanina, hindi ko makita gaano yung 4x resolution na sinasabi over 1080p TVs.

Yung sony ultra tv sa tingin ko mas maganda na ganun din ang source para makita mo ang ganda niya na di lang basta 1080p ang source mo.

everytime i see dat 64F8500 in the mall makes me wanna swipe my card for that thing..buti nalang my available credit wud not allow me to get it hehehe...ang ganda talaga PQ ng plasma yan..hahay...

hehe, tempting talaga ... kaya i'm staying away muna from the appliance stores ... but in my case, after seeing the price differences, i've come into the conclusion that if i'm going to replace my old Panny 42PV8, it will be the Samsung 51F5500 - my budget only permits bang for the buck models, and you can buy 2 F5500 of the same size for the price of 1 F8500, and with a hefty change to go

i haven't actually seen the 51F5500 model yet, but i've seen the lower model F5000 side-by-side with the F4000-series and it's already impressive and really feels like a good upgrade from the old Panny that i have ... i think that with the higher specs of the F5500, it will more than satisfy my upgrade requirements

if you have no interest on 3D and smart features, the 51F5000 is highly recommended ... i also saw the free tv, it's very nice as well

baka sa settings? Or maybe at the back of your mind you really wanted a led or lcdtv

either low-end plasma yun or naka-off yung plasma tv.

Saw f5000 plasma sitting beside an led and gray talaga yung black niya without exaggeration while darker yung katabi niyang led both patong the same video. And kahit naka off yung screen nga ng plasma is grayish. I am considering a plasma unit kasi mid range plasma are affordable compared sa led pero hindi ko magustuhan yung picture quality.

I agree for default settings samsung f5000 is grey screen compared to lg ln5400 which is indeed black.
Made a side by side comparison between the two with same HD source.

The lg is indeed bright with plasma dimmer. But the skin tones rendered by the plasma is more natural. The plasma for me is sharper and has no perceived judder for fast moving scenes.

Went home with the 51" plasma with a free 28" led.

Dati ko na ring pi-nost eto diba. Mas maitim and mas maputi ang LED than plasma - lalo na yung mga high-end LED - as dark as Darth Vader, while Plasmas can be as gray as Skywalker.

Pero maganda ang details, overall image quality, contrast and skin tone ng plasma kapag dark scenes. So for me, that's what "mas maganda black levels ng plasma" mean.

I asked about plasma on a plasma TV thread and actually mentioned a 2013 plasma model and that is OT? And I say something bad about plasma TV on a plasma TV thread that is considered trolling? Wow! Cool lang kayo mga Pogi. I believe what you say. In fact, the Sony and Sharp sellers in Tokyo would always emphasize that Black & White thing. Eh talagang maitim and maputi ang LED, and mas madilim ang Plasma. But alam kong once inuwi ko ang plasma, mas maganda sa mata ko.

I'm thinking of buying a samsung plasma TV PS43F4900. currently at 24k+ I can't find any review on the net. do you guys have any experience in using this model?

^ I've seen that model on display in some appliance stores. it has good blacks, though its PQ is "noisy" compared to the E550, F5000, F5500, and higher models. if you plan to watch mostly standard definition material, then it's a good buy.

doing research now on plasma.. seems like this is a totally new beast to own...

ang di ko lang maintindihan is the break in period... ano yung "slides" na sinasabi nila na kelangan mo i run for 100hrs?

specifically for the vt60 model...

but i might get a plasma soon..
