i have not paired it with tubes yet, it is now connected via my onkyo 806, adjusted tones 0 bass and 0 treble, played a couple of cds on my non-audiophile pio dv-600 and some compressed music (wma and mp3) from my nokia n95. the velo tweeters sound great, very good mid range and has a wide sound stage, bass is also pretty good. details are very good. 

i think the price now is at 6k a pair since the group buy for the 1st 15 pairs is over. but you can pm @diy_master or text 09214697091 contact sir anthony. i think black is the only color that is available as of now.

you can't go wrong with this bookshelves.

i second the motion! with my other bookshelves i had to turn the sub on and tweak with equalizer settings to get balanced sound, with the clones i can listen to cds at flat tone settings and get amazing sounds even with my sub turned off.

Ako nag tweak but not on caps and wires.  I followed some models of proac by using bitumen or asphalt as damping compound on the inside walls of the baffles !!    And guess what!?!  The sound improved more. 

Before the added damping, I noticed a bit of midbass resonance on some music materials with lots of bass like selections from joe jackson and some softening of very low bass. But after adding bitumen, the bass got tighter and lower with lesser box resonance.  I also perceived a cleaner more focused midrange. I honestly didn't expect much on the upgrade but I was really pleasantly surprised with the result.

markcrenz is right, this speakers produce amazing bass for it's size. Not those 1 note bass or midbass exaggerations but honest bass tones and low tight bass (especially after my tweak  ) The highs are also remarkable, not laid back and not offensive either, kung baga just right to make things real.

I'll post some pics on my mods later, buti nalang naisipan ko kunan ng konting shots while in the process of applying bitumen.

Actually, I used this Plastic Roof Cement made by Master. It's a variation of asphalt compound similar to "alkitran". This is the only viable material I can find nearing bitumen readily available in commercial hardwares. It's rubbery in texture and can be spread using brush or spatula. You can add a little gasoline to the compound para mas madali ipahid. But not too much gas para di masyadong numipis ang coating.
The thickness is in your descretion nalang. I applied siguro about the same thickness ng cd disc but it's really hard to approximate. Also, hindi pantay thickness ko in all surfaces because I'm still experimenting and I don't want to overdamp the box naman baka mawala yung dynamics. It's easier too add than to remove, I swear.     

Warning lang mga sir, medyo messy ang process and the smell of gas and the compound doesn't wear off easily. Mga 4 days naamoy ko pa ng konti yung mixture pag nag ba bass yung woofers thru the port.   

But the outcome is well worth it for me.

Yup, your right bro! Pwede flashband tapes kaso tinamad akong magpunta sa mall hardwares kaya sa suking hardware samin lng ako nag source out. 

Kailangan talaga mag explore at maging creative pag hindi kaya bilin ang orig.  Dyan magaling ang pinoy !!

matagal ko na ngang gustong gawin sa b&w302 ko na patungan ng solid wood ang sides e. wala lang talagang time. meron pa kase kaming sobrang kahoy na ginamit sa hagdan. those are 2" thick wood!

Solid wood is more resonant than MDF, so using solid wood would require more damping to minimize sound coloration.

Yes sir, the proac utilized Bitumen pads all around the cabinet

Here's where the car audio community products can help us home audio guys - the deadening material that they used to deaden the doors, floors & roof of cars can naturally be used. Flashband is a local, cheap alternative you can find in Ace hardware - a bit messy in its application, but doable.

High-end car audio shops uses Dynamat - which has a self-adhesive backing. There are also other brands similar & less expensive than Dynamat that you can also use. Meron din yata spray type or brush-on sound deadening in liquid form that also does the job.

Small speakers can sometimes get away without sound deadening - but for floor standers, I believe it is a must. I brought up this subject to Anthony a few days ago and he has a resource for those "asphalt" deadening material - apparently, he applied some of those to my proac "stands"

Feel free to ask Anthony about those asphalt deadening materials - I think they're cheap lang daw. Besides, the clones are just small bookshelves so they will only eat a few
