Jojo C4S ba yan as plate load? Baka naman puwede mong ituro sa akin kung paano adjust yung resistors to get the right current setting?  ;D

Almost, inspired by SY's heretical ECC88 linestage and Morgan Jones ccs. It's also a cascode so they share a lot in common with John Camille's C4S.

It's a cathode follower with an active load bro, madali lang naman just need a tube plate curve of the tube of your choice and Ohm's Law. Unity-gain (gain slightly less than 1) so expect to have your pot all the way to about 12 o'clock for a good listening level. Sabi nga sa Decware "less is more".

Ngek ala akong naintindihan. Sige babasa muna ko. Pag di ko pa rin makuha bibili na lang ako ng IXYS 10M45 sa Digikey. Isang resistor pra adjust! Ano nga eka tawag don? Depletion mode CCS? Hi hi ;D

Thanks for the tip, bro.

Yes Mundorf doesnt have directionality which makes life a lot easier.

i remember the old days, those times, paper caps have markings and ussually the banded end is the outer foil. now this outer foils connects to ground in case the cap is used as bypass filter cap, and to grid in case of coupling caps, wonder how the new caps are in this regard... ;D
That's OK, you can like or dislike anything you choose. That's the wonderful thing about the freedom

i saw some of those caps on vintage gears that I repair, they are quite big in size for caps of that value.  ;D

Tono Preamp to 12AU7 Unity Gain Preamp

I am a fan of Rene's "Killer" passive linestage. I was thinking of a passive preamp with tubes. I requested Jojo to convert my Tono Preamp to 12AU7 Unity Gain Preamp with great results.

The concept was based here.

http://www.decware.com/linestage/zp1.htm

Set up for a single line level source, this Zen Triode Tube Attenuator is superior sounding when compared to a passive preamp in most systems!  It was designed for the serious audiophile in the spirit of "less is more!"  We have found this unit to be synergistic with both SET amps as well as high power tube and solid state amps.  In fact, if you have a high power solid state amplifier, this is an absolute must.

Junkman Head Amp
A young kid who was playing in the rain last wednesday brought me this piece of board after he found it laying around in a pile of junk and garbage. He even joked about it and asked if it would still work.

I had built a lot of headamps before, most of them a CMOY or a slight variation of it. Since I had been thinking of building myself my very own CMOY, I never really got the time to build one for myself. An idea popped and so I asked the kid if I can have it and he obliged.

I cleaned it up a bit, used a hair dryer to dry and make sure that moist is out. I hooked it up to a psu and a pair of multimeters and found that it still works, even after being soaked in rain water.

And so I cleaned it up and removed the old caps and chip.

First to be replaced were the corroding jumper wires, I got a few solid silver wires so that's what I used to replace them. Got some precision 1/8w resistors laying around from another personal project which hasn't started yet.
