ako, i'm saving my OD3s and OC3s for a really nice cool project. Yung maliwanag ba... Naisip ko eh 10Y na Thoriated Tungsten kasi I have 3 pairs of those, tapos naka CCS shunt regulator using OD3/OC3 whatever. Sana may Mercury Vapor din na rectifier, kaso takot ako! Bwahahahaha!

My observation:

Cleartops is a bit more refined thatn Sylvania. Very sweet sounding.

But Sylvania had better bass and highs, but can be harsh sometimes.

Thanks to you guys  I was still able to scrounge for a pair of unbranded 12au7 cleartop and a pair of Tung Sol branded 12au7 (from the leftovers of those who've already been there).    Tried the clear top last night with my Tono preamp and I must say I like the sound of this better than the Tono's stock tubes especially on vocals.  It has a warm, sweet, clear, and very relaxing sound. It has no harshness even at loud volume.  Now, I have to try out those Tung Sols tonight.  Again, thank you guys

panabla sa malas ...greyplate lang not blackplate..pwede na maski isa lang at yung kapares blackplate both au7 - mulato baga....all others 4 u seems ok.

kagaya natin lagi naliligaw (ng landas sa bulkang kanlaon)..buti di sa mayon, tigok tayo sa glowing lava...dito tayo sa glow ni ate spin glow
