I just noticed something:

Onkyo 705 is THX select 2 certified @ $799

Onkyo 805 is already THX ULTRA 2 certified @ $999.

Thats gotta be one of the cheapest THX ULTRA 2 certified receiver out there!

Onkyo is so cheap in the U.S.! Ang mahal nga lang ng freight papunta dito

thats about 14888.25 pesos for shipping....plus about 40500 for the unit itself..

55k for the whole thing.. great unit.. heavy on the budget though... sniff

anyone know if JAC gives discounts for extra heavy amount stuff.. ?

yup....actual weight is 50.9 lbs........but shipping weight or volume weight varies from 61 to 66 lbs as I found out from Amazon and J&R. JAC will charge us whatever is heavier........kaya more or less mga 66 lbs nga...... huhuhu......

door-to-door is just ~$80, unlimited weight, as long as it fits a 20"x20"x20" box. a 24" is around ~$130.

just wait 2months to arrive

Theater Work's prices are reasonable. & Jeff is easy to talk to.

Meron na sa H.K. Nyan. I saw it last June. Price very reasonable. May Balikbayan box H.K. although i don't have any contacts. Muntik kon iuwi yan ng hand carry. Kaya lan nun na imagine ko yun mga buwayan custom sa airport. Nag chicken out ako.

if you are a philippine passport holder, then you can bring in items as long as it is not in commercial quantity....anyway if items were just handcarried, then no way it can be construed as commercial quatity..
you can carry them as carrry on laguages as long as they will fit under the seats or on everhard compartments...

i never had anybody from costums checking me any time....

Wow 51lbs for a handcarry. If you're a muscled guy, ok siguro. Just fly First class and the overhead bins are large enough to accommodate it, or just put it on the floor. Or select a bulkhead seat in economy where there's a lot of legroom to put the thing down.

Suggestion kung kakasya lang is: tanggalin mo sa box then ilagay sa luggage bag then paligiran ng damit. That is kung gusto mong makatipid: kasi mahal kung babayaran mo yung excess baggage.

How much nga ulit sa HK or Singapore?

Thats what I did when I bought my first receiver sa US. Its really a lot cheaper there, the problem is 110 v lang. Now mayron na door to door balikbayan box no matter how heavy cost US $ 60 sa west coast and mga US $ 70 naman sa east

just an update for those who might be interested.

i ordered from amazon already the 705... not too much weight difference from 605 plus can find them at 650 dollars or slightly below if lucky.

if you live in states and have discount coupons, etc... i hear the record was 450 dollars for it.

I am not being disrespectful but why don't you wait for the new NAD receivers coming out by October? They also have the Audyssey XT. But the advantage is REAL power for all 7 channels plus a generous power headroom of 3 dB. They will also have 4 HDMI inputs plus all of the surround processing you will ever NEED. No Dolby true HD and DTS MA. We don't need the latter processing anyway as HD-dvd as well as the BD 1.1 standard are authored in ADVANCE MODE meaning that the decompression will be done inside the PLAYER and not the receiver. The only use of the on-board surround sound capability is with the existing Blu-ray disc that are authored in BASIC mode.

which model are you refering sir?

last i checked NAD recievers are of the scale on my budget, i was originally just gonna get a cheap 605.. it just happen to be out of stock at time of purchase so i got the 705.

my 705 is at johnny air already.. just waiting for them ship it to manila.
