Saw these pics from the imports. Hoping the Quadrilogy 8 disc will be released locally with the same specs..ALL dts!

if i'm not mistaken, in the hong kong version, the die hard 4.0 is the PG-13 version, not the unrated one.. but still, it looks good..

my boss saw a copy of this in stores in Bangkok...good looking set naman daw. I think he got the Unrated w/ slipcase.

Yeah, does anyone know if this (8-disc) set will have the same specs as the Ultimate Collection discs?

As I mentioned in a separate thread, it seems quite unlikely that a quadrilogy can be released in the Philippines, since while Viva-Fox owns the local copyright to Die Hard 1, 2 and 4, the rights to Die Hard With A Vengeance belong to Solar. That's why despite excellent Viva-Fox imported releases of parts 1 & 2 on DVD, we never got part three here. Just on VHS, with a "sponsored by Seasons Iced Tea" logo on the jacket:

I'm still hoping Solar's rights to Part 3 have lapsed, or that they can reach an agreement with Fox/Viva about allowing the latter to release the quadrilogy in the country.

I wonder: who distributed the Alien Quadrilogy box set a few years ago? It's under Fox, too.

I was told that Die Hard 4.0 will be released along with Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer on November 21 (or 26). Since I'm tired of waiting for Die Hard with a Vengeance to arrive here, I just asked my friend to get me the 2-disc Definitive Edition in Hong Kong this week.

howcome there are already vcds of die hard 4.0 available. i saw a copy at odyssey the block...pero wala pang dvd version.

usually nauuna yung vcd version. especially with fox titles, which are released through viva, mahirap iestimate when the dvd version will come out. minsan andyan agad, minsan naman delayed. unlike warner releases na may definite date and dvd release (though may delays din minsan...)

Wow, thanks. This seems to have everything in the ultimate collection. I think the concern now is whether our R3 release will mirror the R1's.

I doubt a quadrilogy boxed set will emerge locally... most likely, they will re-release the old editions at lower pricing (ala Alien series) and the new one (Die Hard 4.0) at full price (Php 550).

As to rights... If Viva had wanted they could act as Solar's distributor for DVD (just as Regal did for some of it's local titles)... after all, Solar's DVD releases is limited to those Pacquiao fights (am I right?)...

the die hard 4.0 retailed in bangkok shops are the 1-disc and 2-discs version - which they called the Extended Edition / Extended Version "not seen in theaters"

have it for almost 2 weeks na

just like the sale of silver surfer figurine here, was surprised to know the earlier release of some dvds here

I just saw a VCD copy of Die Hard with a Vengeance, and at the back it states that Viva is making & distributing this title. What's the real score here? Does Solar still own the rights to this?

Hey, great news! If you saw a Viva VCD of this, then Solar's rights have probably lapsed, and a Quadrilogy set is possible. But I'm already happy with my 1 and 2, so will probably just get 4.0, and Vengeance, if they finally release it separately.

that's good news! so there's a possibility part 3 would see the light of day. viva did release aliens so the alien series would be complete.

i gather the release date of the dvd would be about the same time gap between the vcd and dvd release of fantastic four 2....since both are fox releases handled by viva.

According to Viva, release date is Nov 21, 2007. You can take this with a grain of salt but they were right on the dot with F4: Rise of the Silver Surfer. However, they also said that Ratatouille was due for release yesterday.

Price of this release is P550.

Called up Viva to inquire. Unfortunately, they couldn't zero in on the date but they said that it's really forthcoming.
