Okay, just to clarify everything: we were not misinformed. The cellphone strap is very limited so they're trying to do something about that. The posters are behind the counter so just ask for a copy. And the postcards were delayed because of the printing. They'll be available starting tomorrow. If you already picked-up your copy of Troy, just bring your receipt and ask for the postcards. Here's a sample:

Not sure on the actual number but it's much less than the Korean LE release from what I've been told. I'll confirm and get back to you.

I found the features lacking.  15 mins per featurette?  that's barely an hour  :o made me wonder why they put out two discs instead of one.

Also, naka automatic din ba sa inyo yung chinese subtitle for the special features?  is this my player's doing or the disc?  advise naman po.

All-in-all, i loved the movie and the audio video quality.

I sure hope that by releasing this 3 months in advance of the r1, they didn't sacrifice any special features because I also thought the special features were lacking.

koolkat and evileye, i think the featurettes for all recent Warner releases were shortened. goodfellas dvd for one contains short "shorts" which surprised the avid followers of the film.  same is the case for other Warner releases, they try to trim down the extras and re-release it after 3-4 years with new unexplored features included.

re the subs, you may check your dvd player preference and customize it. mine has automatic english subs.   8)

It could be in ths forum or elsewhere but If I recal right, there's this explanation on why those featurettes are less than 30 minutes.  I think it has something to do with the hollywood labor union rules that mandate some royalties to the people involved in featurettes that exceed 30 minutes.  So bringing it below 30 minutes would nicely  preclude this added expense for the studios.

I went to Astro Greenhills today and got na my copy of the postcards. Staff said they just arrived today. I thought they'd be bigger, as in they'd fit snugly inside the box. But then again, it's added value so..

The Chinese subs were automatic on my disc 2 also, but you can easily turn them off. I think they made it this way because the only spoken language on said disc is English.. but strangely, no English subs..

got my le copy tonight.  wala pa ring freebies sa astro glorietta, just raffle coupons.  balikan na lang daw mga freebies kung ano man yun hehe  ;D

a follow-up on my observations regaring the amaray case printouts, it is indeed not at par with the r1 releases.  look closely at the colors and contrasts between printouts.  the letters and white borders are not consistently white, they aren't that sharp compared to other warner releases.  the colors aren't that vivid as opposed to previous dvds.  the only thing that keeps me interested in this version is the packaging and waaaay ahead of the r1 release. hehe  ;D

the labels are not that good. the colors are not solid but somewhat bleed into each other. However, the value for what you get is great as the R1 dvd alone would cost what we paid for our Limited edition

Hi patring! The posters are on an until-supplies-last basis only, so baka naubusan na by Sunday. The postcards are part of the LE, so you just have to present the receipt. That's as far as I know, I hope you still get your poster. Don't forget about those raffle tickets!  ;D

Got mine na rin last night, together with the postcard, poster, raffle coupon.
Wala talaga yung cell strap. pang regular lang daw. totoo?

Anyway, the packaging looks great. All I need now is how to preserve it.
Need a bigger protective sleeves.

I wonder when this limited edition will run out?
Baka tulad yan nung Alien Quadrilogy na up to now its all over Astro.
I hope it runs out quickly para just to show them there's a big market for collector's item. Para parating meron limited edition.

Sabi nung contact ko, kasama daw sa packaging nung regular yung cell strap, she also doesn't have an idea what it looks like. Hindi na ko nangulit. :)

;D ;D ;D

Agree, more reason why -

- as mentioned in my earlier post, I didn't have to go the store for the reservation, yung contact ko ang nag-abono ng P 200 reservation fee. But I course I paid her as soon as I got the DVD.

- she texted me yesterday morning to inform me that the postcards are already with them. I asked her if she can give me an extra set (postcard). When I dropped by later in the evening, she handed me two sets of postcards labeled ('for sir jojo'). Tuwang-tuwa yung ka-officemate ko na die-hard Brad Pitt fanatic.

Kaya dapat maganda ang pamasko natin sa kanila :)

Cheers!!!

I just viewed my copy last night, and I'm glad I bought this.. I don't usually buy titles I haven't seen before, but this is one blind buy I don't regret! Can't help but compare it to Gladiator though, but maybe it's because of the similar haunting soundtrack..  ;)

Medyo bitin nga yung Disc 2.. but the movie alone is well worth it!  ;D
