Re: DVD Menu Structure
« Reply #180 on: Oct 14, 2009 at 11:43 PM »
If you have rip a .iso image of the DVD, the answer is yes.  The menu structure of the DVD is preserved; it will show up perfectly on the Xtreamer.

Yes, very good!

A little delay in the release of Xtreamer Firmware 2.0
« Reply #181 on: Oct 15, 2009 at 07:20 AM »

Posted by "mavvy", on Oct. 14 in the Xtreamer Official Forum at http://forum.xtreamer.net

Dear friends,

Xtreamer R&D team is currently working on last minute fixes to make sure, we all will get a new firmware in the most stable state as possible. Therefore there's a little delay but we will get it very soon. I bet it will be either end of this week or latest on Monday.

Note that the first release will be a beta version for the beta tester group who will report bugs to the developers. When the beta firmware is released expect the final version about 10 days later.

Please give them some time to breathe to concentrate on their jobs as good as possible. Don't spam the forum with posts asking when it will come. They will immediately update the forum when it is available.

Thanks for your understanding.

Hi Bitstream. Complement sa question ni Comet.  Can the Xtreamer keep the native aspect ratio of the content or it zooms just like the WDTV and the HD-Pro?  Thanks!

Comet yes you can manually set horizontal and vertical zooming by 1% increments to your preference and Xtreamer saves it for you. No one push- Auto-fit though. So you can zoom to make picture smaller so you get the widescreen and black bars, or zoom out to fill the screen vertically- picture cropped on the sides or not however you like it.

Bitstream sent you pm!

Sir Ditoy once you saved it(manual vertical and hortizontal zooming to remove black bars), can this function be readily available for future viewing using the zoom button?  Thanks for the input sir.

When you press zoom kasi, lalabas lang settings saved for both horizontal and vertical. so set ka ulit if you want another setting.  Hopefully future firmware updates can have various zoom choices like the egreat

Hi on this channel Ditoy!  Yung  1% incremental zooming,  sabay ba yung horizontal and vertical (proportional bale) or you can do that independently (para you can possibly set approximately to 1:1.78 or 1:1.85 or 1:2.35 or 1:2.4 etc.)?

Also, what is the "default" zoom setting?  Full screen ba or native aspect ratio?   Thanks!

The "Xtreamer Side Cooler" is not an Xtreamer product... I think it's coming from a retailer in the United Kingdom.  Unless there are many orders, it will be very expensive to ship.  Only choice is to ship by courier.

I have to check the Xtreamer Forum - it seems that Xtreamer itself may consider offering it (will be cheaper, for sure).

We're seriously considering it.  The product hasn't been released yet; units are not available for testing at this time.  It looks like a fantastic product - if it works as indicated on www.xtreamer.net, then it has the makings of a best-seller.

I wonder though, how many people:

a)  Have multiple networked media players
b)  Would spend for a NAS (Network Attached Storage)... EUR 99 = approx. PHP 6,800 excluding shipping and handling, taxes, etc.
c)  Would spend for 2 x 1TB drives (approx P9,000)  or  2 x 2TB drives (approx P20,000)
d)  Have networked PC's and require a NAS for entertainment, work or school

Personally, I want one!

If you read the post re e-TRAYz in the Xtreamer website, it's EUR59 only if you purchased your Xtreamer from the international website.  If you did, that Xtreamer would have cost you P12,500.00 (correction) P10,825.00 by the time it got into your hands. I should know... I bought one from the website. Ouch!

The e-TRAYz offer doesn't extend to equipment sold through distributors, unfortunately.

I'll post a price estimate when I have more info from Xtreamer.  If there's enough interest, then we can consider bringing it in.

Sold!  You now own the most expensive Xtreamer in the Philippines.  I bought it through Xtreamer's website; landed cost was P12,500.00 after adding up the costs of shipping, taxes, documentation and other charges of DHL.

sir bitstream, bakit po parang sobrang mahal nung landed cost based sa price ng website nila? ano po yung taxes, documentation and other charges ng DHL?  :(

I went back to my records to see why it costs so much... P10,825.00 pala landed cost of Xtreamer if ordering from the Xtreamer international website.  I have corrected my earlier post.

Why it costs so much by air:
0.  There is a $28.11 freight cost
1.  Customs charges... got charged for Import Duty and 12% VAT
2.  Customs handling fee
3.  Customs Documentary Stamps
4.  Exchange rate is higher when paying by credit card
5.  Website charges retail price
6.  USB Wireless-N Antenna is included

If you do the math, adjusting for the cost of Wireless and free USB cable, buying from website is 53% more expensive than buying through pinoyDVD.  Plus you get local warranty support.

Think we should raise prices?  ;D

Aside from the 16:9 and 4:3 aspect ratio, Xtreamer promised provide a 16:10 aspect ratio (no timetable).

You can individually zoom height and width of the picture.

We just got a unit earlier, thanks to sir Eric for the accommodation. I was not able to get mine though, kasi puro offline ATM along the entire stretch. Balak ko kasi bili ng DV-610, but after seeing the demo, I changed my  mind in favor of the Xtreamer. But ahl be back  ;D
