The reason I asked, by biamping, you have 2 major bands that you are adjusting covering roughly 10 octaves. Given the passive crossover frequency of the speaker is 1500 hertz you will have 5.5 octaves for the low frequency (rb985) and 4.5 octaves for the HK to control. Since the rotel has attenuators on each channel(I presume), you need only adjust the Rotel to get the proper balance. The problem is, you need a good Real time Analyzer to do it. An Spl meter would do(a high quality one). Radio Shack SPL meter cannot be used unless you apply some weighting to the results of the meter at each frequency.
Amplifiers loves to be band limited and they give much more power as well as damping when band limited. It is very hard to adjust by ear. You have to have the instrumentations do it first and then fine tune by ear.
I think the purpose of having two sets of speaker inputs with most speakers is to biwire them. Since the output comes from 1 channel of the Amp with 2 wires going to the speakers, you essentially drop the impedance by half thereby increasing the amplifier's output (better amps like the rb985). This is easier than bi-amping because you will not adjust the balance between the LF and HF. You can biamp a speaker with ease if the output comes from the same amp model with the same attenuation level.
At the end of the day, it is still you satisfaction that is paramount, but if you want to optimize your setup to the last drop, there are some procedures that can be implimented.
Whoa, I am speechless sir!
Thanks for your recommendations, I will try to find a way for the procedures you mentioned.
I can try to utilize the 2 unused surround channels of the Rotel and connect them to the fronts again. The last time I did this was with the M34 and not the current speakers. Who knows, it might sound better. But for now, I am happy with the sound of the current config.
Malaki difference? Sa porma OO
.
Seriously, mas
refined ang M52. Bass is tight, clarity and details are
a bit better than the M34.
But for overall, kasama pogi point factor, sa M5 ako!!
