Matz thank you for the impressive HT experience last week when i visited your current setup. Your double chocolate flavored ice cream is equally impressive as well!  ;) ;D Your mission speaker set is very very good indeed although at times it will become just a little bright than usual and the emphasis to sound details is a little bit off comparing to the original source but that's just me. Overall pare with the amount you've spent in that setup, it's truly one of the best bang for the buck setup! And what you did to your HT room is truly an amazing achievement! All i can say pare is you've really outdone yourself! Thanks again for the wonderful time!  ;) :)

Wala na akong madagdag. Ok na ok na ako sa main room setup. My planned additions lately are more on the cosmetic side. I had the option to upgrade the speakers to my dream 7.1 wall & shelf mounted speakers that would leave me space for a separate audio w/ floorstander setup but I had to shelf the idea. Di ko pa kasi napag sasawaan yung missions for HT & music. Sonic nirvana pa rin tayo till now.  :)

Yung na mention above ni munskie was for my bedroom sana. but next time na lang yun.  :)

You are welcome, its actually "triple chocolate madness" and we always try to have one sa ref since its a limited edition. (parang DVD) :)

Bilib talaga ako sa ears mo, very sharp for someone who is just starting this hobby. Pwede ka na for audio & HT reviewer!

The brightness can be tamed by room acoutics or cables, but for now it suits my listening taste just perfectly. Truth is, I even want it a bit brighter. I tried using more laid back cables to counter this before, but ricky complained that many details were missing in one of his visits.

If you found  the system a bit bright, you might not like the sound of your planned dual Rotel Bi-amp for your future setup then. I tried this with my Rotels and the effect was even much brighter than what you heard at my place. For me, it was awesomely detailed for HT (I liked it) but very tiring in music. And regarding the sound details, like I told you, each AVR/processor has its own way of processing details.  In the end, its all a matter of personal preference.  :)

Hehe ganyan talaga pang wala masyadong "buck", kelangan ng "bang for the buck" setup para sulit bawa't labas ng buck ;D

Remember, after your gears, your room is the other 50% of your experience. So make sure you plan on it.

It was a pleasure giving you my recommendations and advice, including love advice  :D...wala pa tayong beer nyan ha, LOL.

Hope to see you again soon!

Finally the 90" motorized 16x9 screen w/ remote control has arrived!

Its so cool to look at it coming down and going up. Feeling hi tech, hehe. I have been playing with it (up down) a lot.

Only problem is the cable management. Wires are exposed. problem solving uli.

Sold all the gears today, my arms are still trembling from lifting the gears.

Funny thing, Velo got reserved by Mr. A and Mission/HK combo by Mr. B later. When Mr. B auditioned the setup, he asked me to beg Mr. A to lift his reservation so Mr. B could buy the entire set.

When Mr. A auditioned the whole setup, He asked me to beg Mr. B to give up his reservation so he can buy the entire set.

Both A & B really liked the sound of the setup. So there you go guys, HK630 & Mission M5's are a perfect match.

I am going to miss these babies!!!  :'( :'( :'( I wasnt able to sleep last night hesitating & afraid I might regret my move.

But oh well. I must set mind on my new goal for the iMAtZ theater so there, all my old HT gears are sold. Doing some very minor renovations here & there including my bedroom.  Just got a 5.1 speaker system for my room, its decent enough so that in case I give up HT & go for pure audio, the bedroom setup will be good enough.

Thanks ET!  :) Sayang sana narinig mo yung narinig ni Mr. A.  :). Nasa Dagupan na yung Missions  :'(

Missions are really great value for money speakers. They sound great & look great (IMO)  :D. Maraming beses nabilib mga kaibigan ko (na may speakers over 2x the price ng Mission) sa performance nya.

Like I said before, I heard a 150+k speaker w/  a 200+k flagship receiver demoing Jurassic park. It did not sound far (better) from what I heard w/ a much cheaper Mission + HK & Rotel Bi-amp combo using the same Jurassic park scene. The midrange is  W :o W & your skin can actually feel it in midrange heavy scenes like Jurassic & SPR. And single woofer pa lang yun M52.

Haay, I will miss these babies!  :'(

Naku, dont over expect guys :D. Actually di naman lahat upgrade to be honest. some others I consider a downgrade but I am just fitting everything exactly to my requirements in Audio & Video, also according to my room size & listening preference.

So far I am getting satisfaction naman from my recent moves. I honestly think it will not look as good as the last Mission/HK combo, but appearance is not my focus anymore, Sound is... :-*

Re: The MAtZTER's Bedroom and DEN setup
« Reply #773 on: Jan 04, 2007 at 11:58 AM »
O yan eto muna, para may distraction habang under renovation ang iMAtZ  ;D

Before

NOW

cleaner & more spacious

Recessed wood panel used laminates and was finished in just 2 days. Been wanting to do this for so long, finally  finished it. Panel also hides the messy wires & connectors.

in the dark, w/ a 5w white backlight as our night light at the back of the panel.

Bedroom setup:
TV:Hitachi 32PD380 LCD TV, excellent PQ and very rich colors
DVD player: Pioneer DV-600 HDMI
Racks: Sabre Crescendus (remnants from main HT room  ;D)
Mount: Sabre LCD/plasma wall mount
AVR: Omni 1000w servo type AVR, Panther surge protector w/ line filter
Receiver: Onkyo 494, 5.1 DTS.. Now Denon 1705 6.1
NOW using Bada 5 channel integrated amplifier w/ Pio 600 as decoder. EXCELLENT!
Speakers: JBL SCS 200.5 speaker system 5.1, + BOSE passive sub
Divx: portable HDD player w/ 20gig laptop hard disk, w/ remote
-w/ VGA or AV (Y,R,W) plug to TV and plays DIVX on your TV

This new 2ndary setup is surprisingly decent. Sub is loud enough for my taste.

1/08 : with the new Bada 5 channel integrated amp, even the satellites can now go loud w/o distortion!

Pag nagsawa na ako sa HT, dito na lang ako manonood  ;D.

Thanks Vhong, I was inquiring before about MS satellites in your B/S thread, then looked at Onkyo satellites, Daiichi cool looking wall mounted flat speakers, etc. Then suddenly realized that these JBL's were my old favourites (totally forgot :D) that I even installed for a friend, so I went for them. Ok naman so far.

ayos na ayos! nice and clean!... :)... secondary set-up pa lang yan... :)

Thanks platinum. I went through several design revisions w/ this since I planned it last March. Napaka complicated ng ibang old designs (cuz it was initially meant for bigger speakers), eto lang pala sagot.

The concept was like the wood panels I placed in the stairs. Empty at the back, patong na lang for quick installation and concealment of wires & stuff behind. My goal was for a very easy to make design that wont cost much in labor & materials (para di magcomplain si missis). The whole panel thing cost me only about 2.5k  ;).
