MAtTZer: I have MA B2 speakers.

I have heard Yamaha 650 w/ MA B2's (sister's setup). Ok naman.

I have seen many MA B2 setups used with NAD BEE. Havent heard it though. But if many people use it, maybe its good. Audition it yourself.

Talaga lang sir ha!! ;)... may gulpi d' gulat yung boses mo pag pagn-office modulation ;D... anyways, another pla ko once i've got an SW is to disable 1 woofer on my FS... i dont know if dat is possible but i will try someday... u'r correct acutally, sayang yung FS ko talaga kung ganun ang setting ko for my FS... but for now, medyo ok na, a little bit satisfaction for stereo listening.... Planning to get a higher HK model is not my current plan ryt now, completion of my set up is currently my target... (how ???)... para ma-enjoy me naman yung complete HT equipment...
Sir Matz, hope someday, u'll allow me to visit u and demo to me your gears... i wish to see how powerful & attractive ur set up... d kaya ma-bading ako sa mga gears mo ???.... joke ;D... sama ko si sanmig, kasama ko dito sa opis yan... Regards & thanks!!! :) :) :)

Sorry Jhun. It was really not my intention to suggest a change of gears, but the info was intended more for readers who are starting their setup :). Basta you are happy with your setup, thats good enough. You dont need to change anything.  :)

Sure, come with sanmig someday. :)

Same question b4, is it possible to disable 1 woofer on my FS so that it will suited to my 235? may gumawa na kaya nun dito ???... but the truth sir, i'm afraid to do such experiment baka kasi may maapektuhan sa equipment ko... BTW, i'm just extending to u my activities i've made (parang bosing ko ah ;D).. i've set my L/R level from 0 to - 4db.. may pagbabago sa hearings ko,  yung softness & flatness seems ok but yung power output level medyo humina... but i think ok na muna yung ganun atleast di gaanong stress yung amp section ko... yun lang po :D :D....

Will see you someday sir... Thanks and regards....

Dont disable, I dont think you can without messing with the internal crossovers.

For my music listening w/ HK, I go for 2 channel only, set the speakers to large, set subs to none.

Thats what they say parehas lang.
But it will always have effect on internal circuitry since may dinagdag na component.

Bros,

Those who go the AVR 240 do you have issues on the AVR shutting down or activating protect mode?  Sabi kasi ng iba yung HK235 parang eto and issue.  I wonder kung ganun din and 240.

I will be purchasing a 240 this afternoon.  I'm just checking here to see if there are any similar issues with the 240.

Thanks bro.  That's kinda reassuring  :D

Just bought the HK 240 a while ago.  Nag-iisang stock na lang.  All of the stores I inquired from were out os stock.  Medyo matatagalan pa ata yung next shipment

if you have the budget a 335 is much better.. unless you value the ipod connectivity a lot... maybe add a little and get the 340..

If you want 5 watts more power per channel get the 335, if you value Ipod connectivity more, get 240.  I got the 240 coz its the one available.  I just need the pre-outs.

240 around 25,700 while the 340 is a little over 31K

From what I was told, its more than just 5 watts (w/c is a big difference in an All channels driven setting, x7 pa). The sound starts to get warmer starting at the 300 series. Also there is a room 2 mode.

I would recommend the 300 series at least (specially if you want to use floorstanders), cuz I found the 200 series a bit bright.

Guys Help,

My hk AVR335 is now in standby mode and attempting to turn it on with the remote, manual switch and using the "reset" feature won't bring it out of standby(but sometimes it does). Just bought this a week ago. If i cant get this fix ill return this to acoustical space megamall.

Are there any existing problems with the 335?

any recommendations what to check?

Mike

Is the problem there from the start?  Take out all the speaker wires and check if the problem is still there.

over P120k. Requires 2 people to lift and uses torroidal transformers used in outboard power amps, you wont need separates (pre/pro & power amps) anymore.

I am seriously considering a 2nd hand 501 being sold to me here in PDVD at P10k and an HK AVR135 at P14k? Which do you think is a better buy? Or should I consider buying the 503 at P18k as mentioned by Baboinsky. TIA

i will just be using it for my room to listen on my cd collections and watch some dvds.

thanks guys!

I would recommend sana, IME, the HK AVR-340 kahit starting ka pa lang. Buti na yung sa ginta ka na ng product line mag simula, IMO, coz you get a taste of some of the features of the higher end models and you are already a little bit above the entry level product line.

Kaso baka sayang yung features ng HT receiver if you prefer 2 channel audio most of the time and watch few DVD movies only. For that scenario, and if you're really into HK gears, go for one of their integrated amps, like the popular HK 630 (if it is still available for sale) or the latest HK 970.

But don't completely take my word for it. Please try to audition as well.

Good luck.

I would also recommend at least mid level AVR's like the HK300 series. I have heard the 100 & the 200 series. They become bright on demanding action scenes (typical of most entry level AVR's). You might end up wanting to upgrade later. If you can, go for the highest model receiver (if possible), Para wala nang upgrade sa sunod.

The HK 630 is a 7.1 receiver (2005), used to have one. Its 2 channel performance can rival those dedicated 2 channel integrateds (opinion ni Chad, w/c I somehow agree). If you can find this in Singapore as NOS (new old stock) at a discounted price, get it. Even the  store salesmen at XXX have commented that the older 630 sounds better than the newer 635. That kinda says a lot.

Is there really a big difference between HK 235 and HK 335?  What is the better AVR for this 7.1 speaker setup: Wharfedale 9.5 (fronts), 9.CS (center), 9.dfs (surrounds), 9.1 (rear), SW 300 (sub)?
