is there a big difference in sound ba sa M3 series compared sa M7 series??

kasi yung M7 series has a good ratings in a lot of audio/video magazines and user satisfaction... I for one chose this over comparabale model of  B&W of the same era.... mas gusto kong tumunog yung missions..... but I havent seen any reviews yet for the M3 series.....

Pero andami dito nyan...meron pa ngang maliit eh...hehehee dyunyor m33...cute sya pero di ko pa naririnig tumunog.... ayaw kong pakinggan at baka mangati na naman yung kukote ko....hehehehe

I went to Sonny T. on Friday and he advised against the M35. It was too much for my room daw. So I bought the 2nd hand M34 na lang cuz konti lang difference from a new M33..

Anyway, I put the settings to LFE out...both, front speakers...large, crossover ...60hz and the sound was just awesome. Man! the M34 rocks!  Yanig hanggang 2nd floor namin. Nasa 9 o clock pa lang yung volume ng Velodyne nun!

I could truly say I am now happy and content with my HT system, well almost... (upgrade na lang ng wires) ;D

Now I seldom see a M70 series in stores, it is replaces by M30's and M5 series.....but If you can hear a M780e speaker of mission.......hehehee I want one but for its price, maybe I also have to consider other brand....and I need to change my amp coz it is quite power hungry...... but I do like the way it sings and its looks....hehehehe

UY!!! meron ako nyan :) It's doing quite well on my audio set-up. Power hungry talaga sya mga sir. It clips if driven by amps lower than 80 watts. I tried it with several SS amps, including the yamaha rv-440 avr palpak parin. Now it doest clip na. I hooked it up to a 10 watter tube integrated tube amp. Pero I feel mas may ibibigay pa syang sound if powered by...an st70 :)

i bought this speaker mainly for audio use. Pag-HT parang sayang ang qualities nya eh. Surrounds ko wharfdale. Ok lang naman :) center ko M7c2.

mabuhay mga mission accomplished!  O0

i wonder why an M34 clips with a lower wattage amp?  the m34 is a 92dB speaker and very easy to drive even if matched with a single ended amp.  Is your M34 fully broken-in?  My experience with Missions for several years and several models, it takes so much time/hours breaking in for it to sing and rock.  Just curious.

The unit I bought was already broken in, it was bought in December 2004 (3 months used) and the previous owner was using a 25 watt amp only. He didnt mention about any clipping but he said the reason he was selling it was because he wanted to buy an M34i (when it arrives at the end of the month) which had a sensitivity of  93db. I dont know much about audio but I was wondering how 1 db would be such a big deal. He said DCM was going to give him a good discount so he went on to sell it.

I dont notice any clipping at all but I am not into audio, so I use a yamaha 650 at 95wpc and the manual says it uses 130w for the front speakers. I think the amplification is enough...

One thing I noticed about the M34's audio use was when the guy played one of his LP's with lots of bass, the woofers were hyper. They were vibrating a lot, but when I got home and played bass-y music on my yammy, I couldnt get it to vibrate as much, even at high volumes. Maybe it was a good demo to me on how big a difference it is to use those tube amps...

MAtZTER, congrats bro, nagawa mo na gusto mong gawin ;)

Configured my HT set-up as follows:

Fronts - Speakers A - M73i
Fronts - Speakers B - M70i
Center - M7C1
Rears -   M73s
Rears2-  {still searching for a Mission replacement for Bose cubes}
Subs1 -  Velodyne CHT-10R
Subs2 -  Kenwood SW-7 tweaked
AVR     -  Yamaha RXV-750 (configured for 7.1 with fronts A+B enabled)

It's smashing amazing that I now realized I have been missing a lot before I switched the Velodyne CHT-10R as a replacement for a Dynaquest DQ-12 that has been tweaked.  ::)

Whoa, M73 for front and rear :o!

Bro, just wanted to ask:

What impedance mode (6ohms+ or 8 ohms+ on the rear impedance switch) did you set for using A+B on your Yammy 750? Ok ba effect (sound wise)when you use both  A+B? No heat problems?

I am also wondering why you didnt just use the M70 for presence channels, are the presence channels useless or insignificant in your experience?( I havent tried them yet).

TIA  ;)!

honga....

antindi nyan, m73 for front and rear.....

M70 lang ang gamit ko sa rear and I find it quite nice when playing sacd's....mas fuller yung sound comparing to a smaller rear speaker....what more siguro kung M73 yon...

teka eh di puro 'LARGE' halos ang settings nyang mga speakers mo?..... ano ang settings mo sa LFE mo?

It's ideal to have identical full-range speakers for front and back especially for discrete multichannel materials.

No heat problems. Even at high volumes, I am okay. I think I put them at 8 ohms.  Yup, I like the A+B results on the Yammie 750. Note that the front "A" is M73i while my rear is "M73s". Fronts "B" is a M70.

I am still searching for another pair of Mission M70 / M71 or even M73s for my 6&7 to make it full Mission 7.1. I didn't opted to use the presence pair as I don't find much value "yet" for it. I might swing the Bose to it if I do find a pair to replace the extra rear pairs.

Guys, what are these foam plugs for? On what circumstances do I use em? When the speakers are too close to the wall? etc.. Manual doesnt say anything about them.

Has anyone tried sand filling their Mission floorstanders? Is there a difference in sound?

TIA  :)

Hehe, Di na kailangan i-upgrade, malufet na ito enough for me, specially sa budget ko  ;). Just buy em a little at a time so that its lighter on the pocket. Unahin mo na yung M3c2. Then the surrounds and then save up for the M34i sa May or June, its worth it. Naku pre, subs pa! Pero ganyan talaga, it took me a while to complete my setup.

Guilty ako sa pag ubos ng M3 series sa S & S for my friend's setup ;). Pero di na rin ako nakaabot sa M30, out-of-stock, so I got a more expensive M30i for my friend.

Try Sonny Tuazon of Home Theater, He might have some stocks.
