mga guru, question lang po. currently i have a htpc with the ff specs:

amd x2 3600+ socket am2
emaxx mobo
8600gt gpu
1.5gb ram

ok naman sya but may occasional lags lang with xbmc menu pero sa playback no problems. ok lang ba if dagdagan ko nalang muna ang rams instead of doing an upgrade? if upgrade naman plano ko trinity pero right now wala pa allocated budget kasi uunahin ko muna yung tv para sa room.

Puwede pero bat 1.5Gb ram mo isang 1GB and 512mb? Kung pag dual channel yung mobo better get a dual channel memory to have a good combination.  ;) ;) ;)

Mataas pa power consumption niyan kasi mga lumang pc parts pa.  O0

kapag may budget na bili nalang ako ng another hd - crossfire or ung 7series hihi

Try running GPU-Z during video playback. That way makikita mo kung graphics adapter ang bottleneck mo during playback. It can also help you optimize the amount of post-processing that your system can handle.

You're welcome. Your GPU should be able to handle video quite well when configured properly, as long as you go easy on post-processing (granted that your playback software/decoder takes proper advantage of Avivo).

Check GPU load. If it's close to 100%, magdrop yan ng frames or babagal ang playback depende sa software na gamit.

Disabling post-processing features under "Video Quality" in Vision Engine Control Center and adjusting the deinterlacing mode should reduce GPU utilization. Disabling advanced video color controls under "Video Color" also help somewhat, if in a squeeze. It's a balancing act, but chances are you'd find a good compromise.

Hindi naman masyado memory-intensive ang video playback, unless you render many frames ahead. Ang matakaw sa video memory is textures, ang video wala naman textures generally.

Pwede siyang maging shader-intensive depending on the software used and the file format. Possible na with one file mataas ang gpu utilization, and with another mababa. GPU-accelerated post-processing is also shader-intensive for the most part, kaya pwedeng bawasan kapag kinakapos yung shader performance ng GPU.

Play mo yung files na nagkakaproblem ka with GPU-accelerated software. If your GPU utilization stays low, check mo CPU utilization mo sa task manager to see kug CPU-limited ka. If mababa both, baka software configuration problem or iba pa.

Yung lag is it only for audio sync or pati yung video mabagal? HDMI audio and video connection yan? Is hardware acceleration enabled? Single screen ba gamit mo?

Llano lacks hardware MVC decode, but it should still be powerful enough for 3D video playback.
Try disabling all post-processing features sa Control Center under Video Color and Video Quality then select Bob or Weave for deinterlacing. Tweaking the 3D Application settings can also help if you're running short of shader performance.

Were you using a Bluray for this? Under PowerDVD, did you select HDMI 1.4 enabled 3D TV and Enable Hardware Acceleration?

Sharing my HTPC setup for 2012

Low end Gigabyte AMD Athlon 3.0 GH (just fine for 1080p movies, no gaming)
Powerlogic 550 w PSU
8 GB RAM running 64-bit Windows 7 Enterprise (no planned upgrades for Win 8 for the next 12 mos)
Low end GE Force graphics card
couple of 500 Gb HDD from Western and Seagate and an external 750 Gb from Western
couple of monitors:  29" Changhong and 20" LG
250w Acurus stereo power amp
Rotel pre-amp
Mordaunt-Short speakers

Have been completely on HTPC for the last 3 years, routing my once dedicated multichannel system to it. Now using just two channels and a sub.   This setup was from my 2nd upgrade last year with just a recent upgrade to one of the monitors.  Have not bought a single CD or DVD since, all HD movies and music from online sources ;D

That 29" changhong LED was on sale for P13,500 at SM appliance.  It's full HD, I could configure it to 1080p at 60htz just like my older 1080p Philips 22"  What attracted me to it was the thin bezel.

Madami paraan para mag kasata port pa puwede mag add ng sata port pcie Which i will do my 10x HDD kasi most ng mobo now has a 7 sata port so i need 3 more sata port. Kaya matx din kinuha ko na board and HTPC case para sa additional na sata port for pcie.  >:D >:D
