I think ang main issue sa 1.5TB is heat...sobrang init ba talaga na hindi advisable? Minsan kasi naiiwan kong bukas yung player kapag nakakatulog ako. Also, mas mabagal ba ang seek time pag sa 1.5Tb compared to 1TB? Lastly, would you guys recommend a particular brand and model for both 1TB and 1.5TB. Thanks!

I'm using 1.5TB on my 31b and so far no problems encountered.  In fact, its literally on all the time kasi i'm using it also to download torrent files.  


BTW, just want to ask your experience lang, there are some DTS movies which I have successfully played via my Samsung HTIB (pass-through lang naman).  My exprience is that I've also encountered some DTS movies na when I play, it does not output any sound.  Although this is expected given that the update is not yet available naman.  What I find weird lang is that when I try to play other movies na, no sound at all (which I have watched and tested already).  It will just normalize once I do a reset on the 31b.  Does this happen to you?

There's a new model EG-M34A shown in Egreat's website. It's like a souped-up WDTV with networking features. I'm assuming it will pass through DTS-HD since it's hdmi 1.3. It looks like a great option for those who already have external drives. It's being sold on Egreat's US website for $149. I wonder when it will get here.

Mura ng eg-m34a ah.  It's a wd tv killer.  Ayos talaga networking capabilities ng egreat et al.  I can access all my TBs movies and music in my PC via LAN. No switching from one external HDD to another.

Check your audio cable, (optical or coax). I use an optical cable and one time, I was going to watch a movie
 and there was no sound at all, when before...meron naman. I checked my connections only to find out that there was something wrong with my optical cable. Once I replaced it, everything went back to normal.

i WAS thinking of getting myseld a WDTV, but now that gren has the 31A for only 9k i thnk its already a goodbuy!dahil na din ata to sa inouts ni sir clondalkin.

Nood Question mga sirs, i heard the 31A does not have HDMI 1.3, any diff from 1.1?

Here's what I need mga sir, a Player that plays HiDef contents ( WDTV has this), something na hindi talga namimili ng files ( i heard that wdtv has issues at wala si egreat so plus ke egreat), internet conenctivity, kahit mabagal lang net ko i guess pag iniwan ko sya overnight matatapos nya din idownload, also ngayon na member na ako ng demoniod ( Egreat address this).

Also one important thing na hindi ako sure, aside sa HD picture, will it also compatible with my receiver Yamaha 363? Will it have any issues producing 5.1 sound? I just connect the Egreat or WDTV to my receiver via Optical or Coax ill be fine?

 I plan to pair the egreat with a 1 tera Mybook non firewire/sata HDD, also I have a WD passport. Super excited nako, pero ang worry ko baka magkanali ako ng pili.

That is, kung meron HDMI in/out yung HTIB mo.  Usually, yung full spec AVR ang meron ganito but perhaps even some HTIB are capable of passing through AV through HDMI.     Bro. Anya's connection configuration is more common.

99.99% of MKV I've watched and  read about (technical info provided with the torrent link) have either DTS or DD or 2-Ch stereo or even mono sound stream.   Thus if you stay away from the remaining 0.01%, then essentially you don't need HDMI Ver. 1.3.   

I havent actually tried straight BD-rip playback on the Egreat 31B, but if this device is actually capable of handling that format and you want to try them, then you have to get a model with HDMI Ver. 1.3

I've tried a bd-rip(with DTS, DTS-HD and LPCM encoded audio) and the sound is noticably different. In terms of audio i think you'll be fine with hdmi 1.1 if you get files with PCM and if you have an AVR with hdmi inputs. But Video is another story

bro wala pang kasamang HDD,pero based sa WDTV+WD 1tera mybook package ni gren, tingin ko lalabas lang na 9k for the Egreat31A plus approx6k for the WD Mybook, total would be 15k.

Ano advantage ng 31B sir sa 31A? magkano din ang price difference.

I'd be deciding latest tomorrow kung ano kukunin ko. i want the 31B mukhang ansa kanya na lahat, pero masyado na sya malayo sa unang choice ko na WDTC 12kpesos, thats why im leaning towards 31A.

O i shouldnt worry about it kasi ill connect it to a receiver naman and let my receiver decode the DTS?

At the moment, as far as I know, wala pa ring dts downmix pati ang 31b. Though magkakaroon na soon. Pero malamang, kung magkaroon na ang 31b, magkakaroon na rin ang 31a. So don't base your decision on that.

Based on the eGreat forums, seems that they are sure about the coming dts downmix function for the HDMI1.3 players but not for the HDMI1.1 players.
